GamesRadar - The Genesis was home to so many great games, some of which that were lost to the past until they got HD rereleases on 360/PS3. For example, Gunstar Heroes won over many hardcore fans in its time, but fans had forgotten it until recently. And while it was developer Treasure's first game, the run-and-gun shooter has the same challenging gameplay and gorgeous graphics fans would soon come to expect from then-new company. Editors Henry, Lucas, and Ryan dove into the game recently to test their skills against the notoriously tough title.
In the 16-bit era, game devs and composers could finally change the type of tones used in the music, simulating a wider array of instruments and creating a whole lot of great soundtracks in the process.
It wasn’t easy picking out the best of the best because there were so many great ones. Even middle-of-the-road soundtracks seemed to deserve a bump if the game was just that damn good, and so many from that era are that damn good!

Gunstar Heroes was made by Treasure. I'm not sure if that IP actually belongs to Sega. If it does, the ONLY modern day developer that I think would do that game justice is Housemarque. Maybe Sega could collaborate with Sony to let them make a modern day Gunstar Heroes. I definitely think Shinobi and Afterburner need modern day remakes though.

Probably still my favorite horror game of all time. I’ve been into that kind of shit my whole life so I don’t scare easy but condemned got me. When you’re looking down a hallway and see people peaking out. The heart was kicking lmao.
I need to play it again. I played a year or 2 ago and it still held up. Graphics are obviously dated but just the premise. Like pulling pipes off of the wall and shit. You don’t see that anymore. I’d take the same game with a new can of paint, it still feels good. Multiplat remaster do it. I don’t think criminal origins ever came to PlayStation.
As hard as it was, the Shinobi remake that came out on PS2 was decent. But yes, a new remake would be great. Always loved that series.
It's been relatively easy to collect for Sega Genesis/Mega Drive because game prices have stayed quite low compared to other retro consoles. But the recent retro explosion is even affecting this market now. Here's a list of Genesis/MD games that you may want to grab before they get any more expensive.

I have Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Hyperstone Heist, complete. It's awesome and I've beaten it so many times.
One of the best games on the Genesis. *sniff* Those were good childhood memories.
