Considering that the game is neither announced or out, there is still very much concern.

Hush you peasant! You have a new trailer to tide you over for 7 more years! In the meantime get ready for Hope Crysallis XVIII 1-6! Emo Chronicles.

/s

Honestly though, I am pretty excited about XV. Let's hope they can pull it off. This generation, that is. I would like to think that this new generation is an opportunity for publishers to atone for the mistakes of the past. I'll be cautiously optimistic on this.

"Square CEO Yosuke Matsuda Apologises For Causing Many Worries For Final Fantasy Fans" ... Then he takes an action/RPG game PS3 exclusive that was a side-story to the more traditional RPG FF13, and turns it into FF15, which is now multiplatform.

Just shows they have no clue what they are doing, and are scrambling to put something together so they are reviving dead projects they were too incompetent to handle last gen instead of giving us a proper FF15.

jc485733974d ago

way too late for apologies mate.

solidboss3974d ago

how about apologizing for not keeping versus(or 15 now)a PLAYSTATION EXCLUSIVE. the game looks great though...but i will purposefully buy it used so that they wont get my money.

DEATHxTHExKIDx3974d ago

whats wrong with it being multiplat?

Kratoscar20083974d ago

Honestly whats wrong is hyping this game as a PS3 exclusive and then making it next Gen Multiplat as i know my fare share of people that bought a PS3 for Versus.

There is no forgiveness for SE.

solidboss3974d ago

square, along with kojima and ND are the few companies who really tapped into the power of PlayStation consoles. i was excited for versus knowing it will blow away ff13 technically because it wasnt bound to the 360. learning ff15 went next gen didn't bother me, its the fact that it lost its exclusivity that bothers me. its just another title that wont be able to show off the true power of one specific console. i guess im going to have to wait for the next nd game to truly see the power of a exclusive ps4 game because (infamous and kz) are not really cutting it for me. also just putting this out there but kh being multi-platform is even more idiotic then ff15 because not 1 single kh game was released on a Microsoft console...so yea fail on square enix for release the THIRD entry (technically the 5th i think if you count them as a whole) of a franchise to a system that doesn't even have the previous entries. way to get new fans.

fr0sty3974d ago

@Death,

All multiplatform games, by design, must cater to the lowest common denominator when it comes to features. In other words, you will not see a feature included in a game that simply cannot be done at all on the other systems. It has to be able to be scaled down to the weakest system.

Granted, the similar architectures of the 2 systems will reduce the number of things that have to get axed, but you won't see them taking full advantage of PS4's RAM bandwidth, for instance. When you have an exclusive title on a closed platform, you can fine tune every little aspect of your game to utilize that system to it's fullest potential.

So, this game is being held back now that it is a multiplatform game. It won't necessarily ruin the game, but it just won't be what it could have been.

wishingW3L3974d ago (Edited 3974d ago )

multiplats don't push the platforms, multiplat Devs only care about making all versions be the same and not the best.

izumo_lee3974d ago

Nothing wrong with it being a multiplat. The problem is are Xbox gamers gonna support a game of this magnitude the way a PS gamer will.

They gave Xbox FF13 but that game sold poorly compared to the PS3 version & the sequel performed even worse. Even after all the hoopla Xbox gamers did when it was announced as a multiplat.

If Xbox gamers are genuinly going to support this game than being a multiplat is not an issue. Just don't go boasting about having the game if Xbox gamers are not gonna care.

Not directed towards you personally..more a general concensus.

bicfitness3974d ago

Pretty sure it's coming to PC too. Read that somewhere today.

Why would you want it a PS exclusive? Shouldn't you want it a Nintendo exclusive since it was first on that system?

solidboss3974d ago

you have got to be kidding me....so much wrong with that post

NarooN3974d ago

Ridiculous logic. That's like saying "loloz shouldnt Metal Geer be Windowz exlcusivez since it wuz 1st on MSX??"

RedHawkX3974d ago

nintendo dont have that power. the game needs to be on the most powerful home console.

maniacmayhem3974d ago

So much wrong and a ridiculous post...but no one can answer the question or explain.

Awesome.

HarvesterOSarow3974d ago

I can absolutely explain. New numbered Final Fantasies no longer belong on Nintendo systems. Plain and simple. That is where the series got their footing yes, and some of the greatest/my favorites are on the SNES (IV, VI). But the Final Fantasy brand is not associated with Nintendo anymore, it's with Sony. You can download 5 numbered titles, that are beloved by millions, on PSN right now and those will stay on your account no matter if you're playing on PSP, PSV, or PS3. Meanwhile Nintendo locks you in to their dated "e-shop". In the late 90's Square pushed for creating bigger and better worlds. More fleshed out characters, stories and music, and that is something that Nintendo couldn't offer them then, and still can't to this day. Any exclusive numbered game added to the franchise on a Nintendo system would be nothing but a disappointment. That isn't to say some great games aren't to be found on Nintendos platforms, but there is a reason they get games like Crystal Chronicles, Tactics Advance/A2, Ring of Fates, and Theater Rhythm.

nothing wrong with it being multilplat. it won't sell well on xbox and if it does more power to them everyone is a winner, SE get more money, they are more encouraged to make games after their recent financial issues = more final fantasy for everyone. the quality of the game isn't going to decrease on ps4 just because its available on another platform. again, everyone's a winner no reason to deny xbox fans FF games. it also won't take any longer for it to be made on both console they are made almost identically with the exception of the ram and the more powerful ps4 gpu

chiwoo3974d ago

Its cool for me. As long as I know its still coming out

TheLyonKing3974d ago

Change name means no longer versus 13 therefore multiplatform = more money.

Not that I am worried am just happy to see it and I am still cleaning my jeans from when I pissed in them seeing the KH 3 trailer!

Final Fantasy I Pixel Remaster – Step Back in Time

Gary Green said: It’s interesting to revisit the roots of your favorite franchises to see first-hand what’s changed and what’s stuck around all these years, though perhaps ‘visit’ would be more accurate than ‘revisit’ since apparently, Europe wasn’t worthy of the original six Final Fantasy games the first time around. By the time we started getting ports of these iconic games, we’d already been through the PSOne JRPG golden age. So we’d already seen the best of what Final Fantasy had to offer, while these predecessors looked outdated, unrefined, and (dare I say it) ugly. We aren’t bitter about the delayed releases, honest…
