Modern Combat 5 For Android and iOS

Triverse writes, "We don’t usually cover First Person Shooter titles here at Gaming on Batteries but we figured it was time to test the waters a bit in that genre. What better title to test the waters with than Modern Combat 5? Check the screens below for an idea of how action packed this game is going to be and it is coming to iOS and Android."

Obvious cashin' in on famous franchise's name is obvious.

Did you see the game? it looks better than COD

jon12344005d ago

its actually the same exact game... just made by different people, and has a different title

Soldierone4005d ago

Lmao, its the same game. Only difference is its made by a mobile developer, aka will need the latest phones to work no matter how good phones from 2 months ago are.

So what if it's like CoD, it's a pretty good mobile shooter and one of the best games available on tablets. So because it's like CoD it's bad? That's just ignorant because instead of encouraging the devs that are making solid products with good mechanics and excellent online capabilities people just demonize because it's a mobile game and looks like another game; it wouldn't be as successful on mobile platforms if it wasn't good. And in addition unlike CoD it has no competition, and if it did have competition that was better, then I could see why people would not like the game, however, that is not the case.

tl;dr MC5 has no competition unlike CoD does with BF, so why the hate? The game is solid and has impressive graphics and gameplay that keep getting better each time.

@Hufandpuf, the fact its for mobile is just the tip of it.

I've played pretty much all of them, and pretty much all of them get hacked within a week. This totally ruins the game entirely.

Then they had the balls to go and put the SAME exact game on consoles, and when you go to play that you realize just how terrible the game is.

There is hardly any difference from game to game either. It visually looks a little better, and maps are somewhat improved, beyond that it runs into the same issues over and over again. A lot of it has to do with the mobile platform itself, not so much Gameloft.

For a mobile game, sure its good, but that isn't saying much. If they want to impress me, put it on Vita and make it "better than COD" and i'll be a fan.

That is what Gameloft does best. The made their own GTA, They made a their own Need For Speed, they made thier own Crisis, they made their own CoD.

I am sure there is more crap they put out I am not remembering.. I can't stand Gameloft. All their games are so generic also just blatant clones if I have ever seen em.

I hate using the word clone for games also but man these guys should be ashamed of themselves. The only reason they get away with it is because it is on iOS and Android.

Soldierone4005d ago

They also made an Uncharted clone too lol

Basically anything thats popular, they rip off. That includes getting licenses to Batman, Spider-man, etc... too

Their stuff sells though. They reported $281 million in revenue for 2012.

"We don’t usually cover First Person Shooter titles here at Gaming on Batteries"

A gaming website that doesn't cover the most popular gaming genre?

triverse4005d ago

It is not the most popular genre on mobile devices. That is why we don't usually cover it there.

From my experience with GoB over the last year and a half or so, endless runners are the most popular genre on iOS and Android.

Review - Modern Combat Blackout (Switch) | WayTooManyGames

WTMG's Leo Faria: "Despite being little else than a port of a mobile game, Modern Combat Blackout is quite enjoyable, especially if you’re craving for a more traditional FPS offering on the Switch. It makes up for its underwhelming visuals, framerate, and campaign mode with a decent multiplayer and great controls. It gives me hope for future Gameloft endeavors on the console, as well as alerting Activision that you can make CoD-like shooters work on the Switch. You’re losing the race, guys."
