The Development and Design of Bonne Jenet by SNK (Garou, KOF)

B.Jenet from Garou MOTW and The King of Fighters is one of the more popular characters since she was introduced in KOF XI.
This article illustrates and discusses her history and development from 1999 till today.
Also highlighted is concept and promotional art about B.Jenet as well as artworks and cosplays by fans of the character.

Since it looks like a new 3D based KOF is in the works we might see this character again (i hope)

I wish SNKP would use the tech Arc Systems Works uses for GG Xrd, they have so many great and classic IP's that's just rotting away.

Hoffmann3982d ago

Damn true. From their classic Garou / Fatal Fury series and Samurai Shodown, Metal Slug..Art of Fighting maybe too and of course King of Fighters they have a lot of relative strong IP's which are at least loved by a certain niche.

I hope the rumors are true and they are working on a new chapter of KOF at least.

Cryptcuzz3981d ago

Imagine how Mai Shiranui would look with Arc Systems engine that was used in their Guilty Gear games.

SNK has so many memorable characters that I hope they would make more games with them.

Hoffmann3981d ago

Imagine the jiggle physics for Mai...omg

Kyosuke_Sanada3981d ago

I thought King Of Fighters did something similar in King Of Fighters XIII. When you look at the dynamic lighting on the sprites as you play, it gives slight evidence of this but I maybe wrong. I thought their latest installment was a solid engine that could be improved hopefully as new games release but Guilty Gear Xrd did raise the bar pretty damn high to surpass.

Baka-akaB3981d ago

It aint the same , They first rendered models in 3d then used hand drawings . GG 3rd will be a full 3d games in 2.5d

they need to make a 3D engine that looks like 2D sprites, so that they can make more games!! I want GAROU, samurai Showdown, Fatal Fury, Art of fighting games!!!

Similar to what Arc Systems has done with GGXrd.

Krimmson3981d ago

They KINDA did that with King of Fighters 12 and 13. Basically they first make 3D models but then they trace over the model animations with sprite art.

I love sprite art so much that I love that style. But I'd be lying if I said that I wouldn't want to see Terry Bogard in the style of GGXrd.

Hoffmann3981d ago

As long as Terry still asks his opponents ARE YOU OKAY? i am fine with every graphic style

thisheat13981d ago

This was great!
Thanks for keeping SNK in the spotlight :)

A new 3D KOF? Where are these rumours?

I've been wondering if SNKP had completely stopped developing games seen as it's been months if not years since KOF XIII came out.

One of the few Dreamcast games I bought. I made sure to snatch it up when I noticed it was on the Switch. I don't know what made this game resonate with me but I love it. I barely touch 2D fighters anymore unless it's to boot this gem up.

I’m really looking forward to this game!

Redrex7000817d ago

that sad not that your looking forward to the game
but the fact they're talking about the season pass
and the game not even out yet smh

CrimsonWing69817d ago

Yea, I hear ya', but that's par for the course for fighting games. If they sold gangbusters this might not be as prevalent, but this isn't anything new since the Xbox 360/PS3 generation. Plus, I don't mind giving them a few extra dollars to support them.

Not too bad. Lost Planet is a series Id like to see get a reboot. And i have not played Mark of the Wolves since the DC. Great fighter though.

HankHill1005d ago

First month in a long time that GWG is better than PS+ imo. I'm sure Sony will step it up next month and hopefully Microsoft does too.

Father__Merrin1005d ago

Not too bad but what ever comes out I never get the time to complete any of them. I more look forward to the back compat as they are for keeps.

BLAKHOODe1005d ago

Darksiders 3 has been on PS+ before. But I'm going to give this month to Xbox.. just barely. Still a weak month from both companies, but probably the best Xbox lineup in a long time.

Garou Greatest fighting game of all time

Deathdeliverer1005d ago (Edited 1005d ago )

I wouldn’t go that far. It’s definitely top 20 though.

autobotdan1005d ago

The best there is, the best there ever was, the best there ever will be

Deathdeliverer1005d ago

Who used to say that?!?! I could easily google it but noooo….. Did Triple H used to say that? The Miz?

Deathdeliverer1005d ago

The hitman hart! Sure did 😂🤣 I’m so lame cause that was my favorite wrestler as a kid!

autobotdan1005d ago

Yeah he had some of the funniest wresting quotes. So memorable. I miss the 1990's when wresting was fun to watch
