You mean to PS4 xBone? Of course they should! No disrespect to this game, Souls series is my absolute favorite but Jap devs are stubborn. Miyazaki said for the 1st Dark Souls that he didn't want voice chat in the games because it would subtract from the role playing... In reality it wouldn't but it's just Jap stubbornness and their refusal to get with the times much like Capcom and the RE5 fiasco...

Heisenburger3995d ago

Am I the only one who got uncomfortable when I got to "...but it's just Jap stubbornness..."?

*pulls on collar*

Oooew boy...

Voice chat would ruin the atmosphere. For a game that uses that very thing to such great effect that's unacceptable. It's hard to suspend disbelief when some kid is yelling at his mom or eating with his mic on. Also, racism and homophobia run rampant online and I don't want my make-believe world to be filled with uneducated idiots.

Heisenburger - Yeah, it does make me wonder how he refers to people of Japanese descent when he knows no one is listening.

DragonKnight3995d ago

Voice chat would be the end of the Souls series. The point of the game is to make you adapt and learn to proceed with caution, to feel like it's just you out there against the world.

Imagine people freestyling their terrible rap music, childishly insulting everyone, telling you what's up ahead. How fun would the game be then?

nolifeking3995d ago

Voice chat would be counter-intuitive to the game and its mythos. The living actively speaking to the dead would seem a stretch to me and possibly others.

roadkillers3995d ago

Heisenburger: Is that a joke?

I'll play the game, doesn't matter where it (PS3/PS4). By the way, did anyone know that you can curl up into a ball on the crows nest and be taken to the beginning of the game? Had my friend show me that today. Crazy.

zeroskie3995d ago

Do you really want to hear some 12 year old kid screaming at you to get over here or go over there? Nah man, it's perfect the way it is.

HyFackingDro3994d ago

People are stupid or rather ignorant and they will defend whatever a company says without reason. If voice chat was in the game and they were debating taking it out you fools would be on the other side of the table. Just because the dev said so it must be so... monkey see monkey do. Just like KZ2 and people defending terrible controller input lag. People still turn on skype and talk or other means so they can play it, and if you really don't want to here someone else, what you can't just simply mute them?

Finally someone noticed the banner that I, myself, carefully put there...pweeew

InfamousHero3995d ago

Damn i know they said 2014 release but i was hoping it'd sneak in holiday 2013. Hopefully the PC version is ported to PS4.

LackTrue4K3995d ago

i read it fast, thinking it read "DARKER SOULS II"

DragonKnight3995d ago

FAKE! This contains absolutely NO sources whatsoever and there is NO proof that that picture is legitimate. For all we know, that "March 2014" banner could also be the release date for a specific region.

I call B.S. on this.

sdozzo3995d ago

Better To Ask For Forgiveness Then Permission.

RBdrift3995d ago

I noticed that banner yesterday on my drive to work plus that banner is sitting 2 blocks away from were I work, so yes it's very real.

Hidetaka Miyazaki claims Dark Souls 2 “carried” the series forward

The game isn't good though.

Rols73d ago

DS2 was fine. While there was a bit of recycling assets or ideas for bosses, it was a bigger more open Dark Souls. The Fume knight boss is one of the hardest bosses in the series until Sekiro and Elden Ring were released.

CrimsonWing6973d ago

The problem with Dark Souls 2 was the same problem when a different director takes over for a sequel to an outstanding movie. It typically (there are exceptions) doesn’t have the feel and vision of the previous movie.

I wouldn’t say Dark Souls 2 is terrible. Had Dark Souls 1 never been a thing and we got this, I think it would have been praised more. The problem is it didn’t have the Miyazaki touch to it and felt pretty derivative. The soundtrack is a banger though.

Aussiesummer73d ago

And it will happen in the future when he doesn’t touch them as he is planning on.

MrBaskerville73d ago

I like DS 2, might even be my favorite of the 3. But it's a hard sell, there's so many obscure things you need to do to make it an enjoyable experience. So always find it hard to recommend, but it is worth the trouble.

All the bosses are only from Dark Souls. No Bloodborne, Sekiro, Elden Ring, or Demon Souls
