Review - Anomaly 2 (Kaboom Shark)

"Just when you thought there wasn’t any way a new video game genre could be created, along came Anomaly: Warzone Earth in 2011 to bring us “Tower Offense”. Essentially a Tower Defense game played from the opposite side, it cast you as the commander of a military convoy as you led them through dangerous pathways filled with immobile yet vicious alien towers. It was fresh, fun and clever.

Now 11 Bit Studios have released a sequel, creatively titled Anomaly 2. It heralds the addition of multiplayer, a first for the series, as well a brand new morphing feature that gives an already awesome concept a dash of Transformers. With virtually no competition in its newly formed genre, Anomaly 2 still has the advantage of uniqueness. In that case, is it an anomaly in a good way or a bad way? We’re about to find out." Best Strategy/Simulation Game of 2014

gamrReview's Brent Galietti: "Strategy and Simulation games suck us into their worlds by putting our minds to work. We predict all the possible moves we can make and how the enemy can respond. Whichever way they do it, these games keep our brains in the game, and that's true of this year's nominees."

Anomaly 2 (PS4) Review - Gaming Nexus

From the review: "It's all about the multiplayer this time around in the Anomaly franchise. Anomaly 2's singleplayer portion is basically identical to the first game, so if that was your jam, then by all means, go weapons free. If it wasn't your jam, then maybe the multiplayer will keep you interested. Either way, there are fun and interesting gameplay ideas hidden away in Anomaly 2 that can keep you busy over a boring weekend."
