DHGF: Ratchet: Deadlocked HD is a mixed bag. While it still plays well and has plenty of charm, the port job is terrible. There are a number of visual glitches and performance hiccups that threaten to spoil the game at any time. Playing co-op was a nightmare because the game couldn’t keep up with two characters running around and shooting things. Still, if you’re someone who’s gotten the game for free because you picked up a retail copy of Full Frontal Assault, this is still a game worth playing. It just won’t be as good as you remembered.
Sony Computer Entertainment Japan and Asia made a rather surprising announcement today. The Japanese PS3 release of the HD remaster of Ratchet: Deadlocked (known as Ratchet & Clank 4th: Final Huge Battle for the Galaxy in Japan) has been suddenly canceled.
what makes the cancellation even stranger is that, if I recall correctly, the first known confirmation of this game existing was from a japanese trailer for the RC HD trilogy.
Hopefully it comes back for release in Asia. Ratchet used to have some popularity there. I think Sony should really push for that to come back in the Asian markets.
The game has more glitches and problems then the original release, so yeah it is a smart decision.
If you got this for free by buying an early copy of Full Frontal Assault, it might be worth checking out the black sheep of the franchise if only for completion of the franchise. Buying it of your own volition? Not recommended.
Hardcore Gamer: Although it was released over four months ago in the U.S., Ratchet Deadlocked (known as "Gladiator" in Europe) will finally be receiving a European release tomorrow.
