Top 3 PS4 Unannounced Games To Slow Down The Xbox One Momentum

TNB: As the entire gaming world look forward to next-gen gaming, Microsoft might have lost a little momentum with the Xbox One reveal which was associated with alot of negative PR, but that isn't enough proof that Sony has an automatic birth right to dominate next-gen

The Last Guardian would be huge, and if they still have exclusivity to Final Fantasy Versus 13(likely) they could take E3 with ease.

proudly_X4006d ago

I always knew The Last Guardian won't come for the PS3. The crystal visuals was simply amazing.. Now they have more than enough resources to play with, so excuses won't be tolerated anymore. We just want The Last Guardian already.

KingKelloggTheWH4006d ago

It will be gorgeous,no matter what console its on...I mean look at SOTC...danggg

ABizzel14005d ago

I don't think any exclusives can slow down The Xbox One momentum, because there's no momentum there due to all the messy confusion going on with MS.

That being said PS3 revivals I want to see are the following:

Last Guardian
Agent
The Agency (cancelled, I was looking forward to it, kind of like Overstrike)
Final Fantasy 15 (aka vs. 13)
8 Days
The Getaway 3

PS1 remakes I want to see:

Syphon Filter
Legend of Dragoon
Final Fantasy 7
Crash Bandicoot (get it back)
Spyro (get it back) (Ratchet, Jak, Sly, Crash, Spyro :D)

New franchise exclusives I want to see:

Heavenly Sword 2
Folklore (remake this to Pokemon for Vita, with new gameplay)
Siren
Lair (done right aka more Skyrim like)
Warhawk (PS3 version)

At least 1 last version of PS3 Sequels:

Uncharted
Resistance
God of War (new lore please)
GT 6
Little Big Planet 3D (X, Y, Z axis gameplay so you can create full games)
Persona 5

ltachiUchiha4006d ago

Totally agree with u guys. These 2 games would rock e3 if we get new gameplay footage. Plus ssm helping with TLG. You know it will be beautiful. Also a ps4 game from naughty dog, if its uncharted 4 there will be a media blackout & if it is a new ip the same will happen lol. Im so pumped for e3.

Wagz224006d ago

Microsoft has a lot of momentum...down hill.

nick3094006d ago

Shadow of the colossus 4K edition me want.

FlyingFoxy4005d ago

Good luck with that when high end PC's struggle with games as poorly optimised as Crysis 3, lucky to get 40fps at 1080P.

Console would never do it.

DragonKnight4005d ago

PC games are never optimized. Devs just developer for minimum requirements and a broad range of configurations hoping the GPU will do all the real work. Console games are able to look awesome with less resources because devs don't have a choice but to optimize.

MikeMyers4005d ago

"PC games are never optimized. Devs just developer for minimum requirements and a broad range of configurations hoping the GPU will do all the real work."

You make it sound more complicated than it really is. Most games simply work just like a console, difference is you can actually adjust the settings. You can choose what resolution you want to play at, you can choose to lock v-sync., you can choose other visual effects, you can choose anti-aliasing. It's there for the gamer to tweak a balance between performance and visual fidelity. A lot of console games on the other hand struggle just to maintain a 720p at 30 fps.

Ask yourself this, will Guerilla Games allow you to tweak Killzone: Shadow Fall so that you can increase the frame rate above 30fps or will it be locked?

wantonGamer4006d ago

"Xbox One momentum" ?

Well, I guess falling into an abyss is also a form of momentum, so yeah.

Ezio20484006d ago

hahahahahahaha.... :P :D
Lol bro.. Good 1 :D :D

PiTCHBLaCK4006d ago (Edited 4006d ago )

I was thinking same thing.
Gravity will get ya every time.

Ares84HU4006d ago (Edited 4006d ago )

I was about to say the same thing. What momentum?? Hahahahaha

steve30x4006d ago

Microsoft slowed the Xbox ones Momentum to a crawl as soon as they said that it needs to login every 24 hours and that a feed is needed to play used games. They only way they can recover from this now is to get rid of those two pieces of DRM.

TheOneWhoIsTornApart4006d ago

Slowed to a crawl? More like came to a complete stop. I have never seen a clusterfu** of this magnitude in my entire life.

Gildarts4006d ago (Edited 4006d ago )

According to sources from Geoff keighley, PS4 will also have DRM for used games. If this is true. At least Microsoft gave it to us straight like a man.

And honestly I don't care for used games DRM.
It's the 24hour online check thats bothering me.
If they announce that that won't be necessary with the disc inserted. I'm happy.

E3 is going to be awesome for Xbox gamers.
The revelation was for the Console and E3 is going to be for games. As they repeatedly said.

DevilishSix4006d ago (Edited 4006d ago )

Even if Sony was stonewalled on the used game issue and forced into DRM by publishers. Always on Kinect is a deal breaker for me and for many others. The big brother daily check in is also a deal breaker. Also, the tech is more powerful in the PS4 from the quicker RAM with more available for games (5 GB vs 7 GB)to the GPU, where PS4 has 18 cores to Xbox's 12. Also, it looks like MS still wants gamers to pay an annual fee to play online, that is ridiculous in the year 2013.

Right now Xbox One has five strikes against it in my view. Now at E3 we will see how strikes PS4 will have against. The one with fewest strikes is the one I purchase.

Gildarts4006d ago (Edited 4006d ago )

The RAM is not faster.

DDR3 Sacrifices Bandwidth for speed. While DDR5 sacrifices speed for Bandwidth.

DDR3 is the fast one genius.
DDR5 allows for more data to be carried. But is much slower.

You have no idea what you're talking about.
5 is a higher number then 3 "ZOMG it must be so much better then DDR3"

Lol @ Disagrees from my first post.

PS4 fanboys be like "NOOOOO,,YOU WERE THE CHOSEN ONE!!"

pkb794006d ago (Edited 4006d ago )

GDDR5 is the better performer, with data rates as high as 3,500 megatransfers per second. The highest data rate from DDR3 is 2,133MT/s.

Reverent4006d ago (Edited 4006d ago )

@Gildarts, you're clearly the one who has no idea what your talking about... I mean, DDR5 doesn't even exist. DDR4 isn't even out yet. If you want to make a point, you should first understand the difference between DDR-, and GDDR-.

I can understand a casual person to make this mistake, but someone who knew what they were talking about wouldn't.

DragonKnight4005d ago

Geoff Keighley's source is his bag of doritos. He is a corporate sellout that no one should pay any attention to whatsoever. He knows it's B.S. otherwise he'd name his source.

braydox214005d ago

Sony have never planned a DRM for games in anything im sure they have said they would leave it to the publishers of their games to have DRM or not.

although this is just my word, and my opinion it has as much crediblity as Geoff Keighley's sources""

ziggurcat4005d ago

"According to sources from Geoff keighley, PS4 will also have DRM for used games."

unsubstantiated rumour from unnamed sources aren't valid, especially when it's something similar to, "so, i know this guy that knows a guy that knows this *other* guy that said this..."

Mr Marvel4006d ago

They lost me at "TV".

I just want games.

steve30x4006d ago

Me too. I just want a console that plays games without all that other stuff they think everybody else wants

Ticklez4006d ago

Xbox one momentum. Wait, wht momentum?

DragonKnight4005d ago

That's exactly what I was wondering. I haven't seen any momentum except from the blinder than blind Microsoft fanboys.

rainslacker4005d ago

Even they didn't move that fast. They were practically silent for a couple days...and I think MS caused greenpowerz to go into a catatonic state. I imagine he's clutching a blankie somewhere in a corner...poor guy. Wonder if he'd like a Vita to keep him company.

DragonKnight4005d ago

@rainslacker: LMAO! That was awesome. But you know, at least greenpowerz had a reaction OTHER than "DEFEND DEFEND DEFEND! CORPORATE APOLOGIST DEFENSE MODE ACTIVATE!"

Microsoft's Absurd Antics Have Me Scared For Dishonored And Arkane Lyon's Future

With Arkane Austin no more and Lyon living for who knows how long, the superb Dishonored is in serious danger; Microsoft cannot be trusted.

Relientk771d 15h ago

I love the Dishonored series so much and really want Dishonored 3. Microsoft better not screw this up.

JEECE1d 12h ago

I mean, I think the fans will probably kill Arkane Lyon by cooking up reasons to hate whatever they do next without playing it. I've never seen a game so artificially disliked as Deathloop.

thesoftware7301d 12h ago

Lol, why don't we just say, we are worried about all studios owned by MS now. They will keep closing studios until they have none left ...🙄

Skuletor1d 9h ago

Just merge them all into a single studio, have it churn out a single Call of Duty every year and call it a day, lol.

Barlos1d 8h ago

Don't be scared, you'll be fine.

Skuletor1d 8h ago

It's exputer, fine is one word I would not associate with them.

Profchaos1d 8h ago

I think it's becoming clear based on matt bootys comments there's no future for any IP that can't sell above 10 million within the launch window. But is also a small game that gives them prestige

/S it's beyond a joke right now

There won't be no more acquiring game publishers from Microsoft in the future . Xbox has to pay Microsoft back. It might take two decades to do that.

sagapo3d ago (Edited 3d ago )

I don’t understand what you’re saying. Xbox IS microsoft so there’s no “paying back “.
And MS gross profit in 2023 was over 140 billion dollars so forget your 2 decades.

Unless you mean the money MS invested in Xbox (acquisitions included) and the time it will take for xbox as a brand to gain that money back on it’s own, then yeah, that could take a while.

romulus233d ago

The better term to use might be return on investment, xbox is simply a division of Microsoft one that MS can easily do away with if profit margins are not met. So in that regard he's right, if xbox isn't showing the expected return on investment the higher ups are expecting than it's unlikely Microsoft will acquire any other studios any time soon, especially if they are spending billions buying developers just to shut them down in the end.

MrBaskerville2d ago (Edited 2d ago )

Xbox is a division that they discussed shutting down but doubled down on after Gamepass was pitched.

It needs to make money at some point. Big money.

rokos2d ago

According to Statista the net income of Microsoft is about $72.4 billion dollars which is a bit lower than last year profit. That is almost as much as Activision's acquisition but I assume that would be a one off since it costs so much plus I see how their focus has been shifted to AI, thus any major future investments will probably be in that area.

Markusb332d ago

i think you are really missing the point

VariantAEC2d ago

@romulus23
That is not why MS buys studios. They might continue to buy because it's about taking that sweet sweet IP out of the corporate husks of their acquisitions.

Xbox isn’t a separate company from Microsoft. It’s all Microsoft.

Abear212d ago (Edited 2d ago )

Let’s be real, this is the media spinning all the acquisitions and liquidations of said developers and spinning it to make M$ the villain.

This was bound to happen, a bigger slice of pie and cut costs, when the games come they stand to make more and that’s their agenda—it was the writing on the wall when the sales went through and legally all those who approved the sale and mergers knew this would happen.

Snowflakes need to realize business is ugly and you can cry all you want but this is how capitalism works. And it works.

That said, M$ needs to steer the narrative and grab hold of all this, make their plans known, hype the hell out of all those dead IP’s they plan to revive, and be honest about the timeline. This is likely to involve mobile and IP on other consoles, and most people realize that.

The problem is this company is incapable of being transparent and seems to often want to dissuade and confuse is customer base. The lack of E3 has hurt Microsoft and I don’t think they know how to properly or effectively market their brand anymore.

jwillj2k43d ago

There really needs to be a class action lawsuit here. You buy these companies just to put people out of jobs. And it’s not like something happened to derail their plans this WAS the plan. Microsoft has no business in this space at all.

franwex3d ago (Edited 3d ago )

Microsoft has been doing this for years. They simply want the IPs. Look at Nokia. Look at Skype. This time it simply expanded to games. Gaming is not as important to Microsoft’s executives as it was to the founders too. Bill Gates was willing to sell the og Xbox at a loss. Steve Balmer approved the red ring of death fiasco. This CEO isn’t really a gamer.

-Foxtrot3d ago

Maybe it's time though to put a stop to it and use a big giant like Microsoft as a huge example to the rest of these big companies.

There has to be a line drawn somewhere.

People like the FTC and the like went against Microsoft yet their Actvision deal was still allowed to go through yet look what's happened...it's not even Acitivisions studios aswell, it's Bethesdas.

VariantAEC2d ago

Years?

Try several decades, and in the gaming space 2.3 decades.

Jon615862d ago

You do realize this happens in ALL industries? Or are you just saying this because it is Microsoft? In any case I feel for those that are being let go but the trch industry is suffering right now.

jwillj2k42d ago (Edited 2d ago )

This absolutely does NOT happen all the time. Let me know the last time 1 company with a terrible product track record spent 100 billion onto acquire MULTIPLE successful companies in under a year only to shut them down and stop making their products regardless of how successful they were. Not merge them, completely shut them down.

And you can’t use Microsoft in your example.

Notellin2d ago (Edited 2d ago )

Class action lawsuit? The law is on their side and protects them at all costs. There are no rules to protect the people at the bottom.

jwillj2k42d ago

Not true when it comes to mass layoff do your research.

RNTody3d ago

Ninja Theory, Perfect Dark, Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, Wolfenstein 3, Dishonored, Prey, Doom, Quake... something tells me that bad things are going to happen to these entities under Microsoft.

MrDead3d ago

ID software, the makers of Doom and Wolfenstein that have been with us since 1991 could be gone and MS will keep the IPs.

I hope some of these studios can buy their freedom from MS otherwise this is going to be even more devastating for the industry and gamers.

Yui_Suzumiya3d ago (Edited 3d ago )

That's exactly what I'm worried about. I've been a fan of id since Wolfenstein 3D and I'm honestly afraid.

lodossrage2d ago

Toys for Bob saw the writing on the wall and bought themselves out.

Wouldn't be the first time a company did that under MS either. Bungie and Twisted Pixel did the same. Considering what just happened, I can see some other devs trying to buy themselves out too.

anast3d ago

Good thing the bosses of all those small studios made their money.

glenn19793d ago

they cant do it right now they will get burned

XiNatsuDragnel3d ago

Phil and his team need to be gone

lodossrage2d ago (Edited 2d ago )

Won't make a difference.

The whole structure needs to be overhauled. Anyone that replaces Phil will be no different than him, Mattrick, or anyone else.

Until the company changes how they go about business, nothing will change

glenn19792d ago

I just don't have any idea what they would do , they have done sooo much damage on their xbox brand, they have a show at July or June I think, but will it even matter even they show amazing games, idkn

lodossrage2d ago

True,

But they may as well get it over with. Whether it happens now or later, the burning is going to hit the same.

Reality is the ONE move that can alleviate a lot of this is the one move they can't make. Remove day 1 from gamepass.

Microsoft Opening Xbox Mobile Game Store in July

The Xbox brand is expanding, as an Xbox mobile game store is opening this coming July where Microsoft will brings its "first-party portfolio."

Jin_Sakai5d ago (Edited 5d ago )

“Bond adds that they will start on the web”

This will go nowhere.

Nice knowing you Xbox. This is what happens when the house never gets cleaned.

MrDead5d ago

The only this MS is expanding is the amount of feculence it sprays on everyone who just want to enjoy gaming and make games.

The best thing MS can do for the gaming industry is leave and never return.

XiNatsuDragnel5d ago

Good luck with this even it might not succeed.
