“As a gamer, I was a little let down,” Steve Butts, editor in chief of gaming website IGN, told FoxNews.com.

System Shock returns to Xbox and PlayStation with a faithful recreation of the classic, adding new features, ending and 4K 60FPS visuals
It was remade last year for PC , Now released and OPTIMIZED and PORTED for/to Xbox and PS5, not “remade” just for consoles.
“it follows a critically acclaimed release on PC back in 2023” that’s because it’s the same work/game. it’s not following/follow up or a continuation. Author Sounds like they are taking a stab at an article and don’t know the product-line lineage and release history/ hierarchy they are attempting to inform you about.
More appropriately: System Shock was first rereleased in 2023 on PC, System shock is now available on PS5 and Xbox.
How did the mysterious free-to-play extraction shooter go from a promising spin-off of The Division to dead in the water?
After seeing Microsoft's trailer for the ONE it's evident that they've lost their focus. The 360 showed Microsoft's serious side to gaming, and it was a good one as it gave gamers what they wanted; an intuitive online system, access to all of the best multiplatform games all binded together with a low asking price. However, after seeing the ONE Microsoft have tried to innovate, and failed.
Where do I begin? Well, maybe I should begin with this abomination:

Just watch it yourself. In a video that is 1:41 long(M:SS), only 7 seconds - yes, SEVEN SECONDS - are dedicated to gaming. That's 1/5 of the video made to sell a games console focused on actual games. Don't believe me? Count yourself. Now, call me old fashioned but I personally believe that to be atrocious, is the XBOX even a gaming machine anymore?
So yes, I believe Steven Butts hit the nail on the head. The ONE is a letdown because it has lost the core of the traditional gaming console: a concise focus on games.
Microsoft have lost their focus and unless they revert their tactics back to the ways of old they're going to quickly become irrelevant in the gaming industry.
I know this has been said before, but I can honestly see both Nintendo and Sony topping Microsoft in the generation to come. Of course, we'll see people buy the ONE just because it has the name "XBOX" on it (probably the children and casual gamers who have little education on what the system is and what's inside it), but we all saw how the WII U's sales skyrocketed after the disappointing ONE reveal. This will probably become a trend.
Nintendo and Sony, prepare to embrace top position again. It seems Microsoft have killed themselves in the gaming department. It's nice to see the company that separated in 1994 (Am I right on that) finally have an equal share of the gaming industry.
The check must of bounced.
I still can't believe people will be still be buying this console.
Even some of my not so close friends saying they will go with it.
it is a disappointment to the gaming community. the want us to take all their shit and deal with it. they are the ones the are gonna deal with it when it launches.
I read this, and I feel for me they missed the point. I could care less about the TV stuff that's fine what ever. It's the DRM, and the proprietary stuff as well as the privacy issues. That is the reason i'm not interested.
