The number of gamers is expected to surpass 1.2 billion by the end of the year. Regional growth in game spending is highest in Latin America and the Asia-Pacific region.

The study broke down gamers of all types into eight distinct personalities based on their preferences and how much time they dedicate to gaming. This was developed by researching consumer habits from 30 markets around the world.
This will be spun by both sides of the gender "debate" to validate their opinions. One will say it's proof that female gamers only play mobile games so traditional gaming doesn't need to adapt. The other will say that everyone is equal and the only reason female gamers prefer mobile games is because traditional gaming isn't doing enough to include them.
I have my own opinion but I think the best approach is to just make the games you'd love to play yourself and say f*CK everyone else.
