'A cheeky spokesperson for Paddy Power said "With both consoles set to retail at roughly the same price it should be a case of one or the other for most gamers but there is the third option of a girlfriend."'

I place my stake on PS4 to be the NO. 1 selling as well as the most gallant console in next generation. <3

I don't know yet, Sony may be using the same used/borrowed games tactics as MS. They will tie it together and say the publishers are demanding it.

Bigpappy4021d ago

Thamm: you one smart cookie. This is not a M$ plan to screw gamers. This is big publishers (EA, Activision...) demanding that the gamers get screwed. It is them who thing they are loosing money to used games and software sharing in general. They are lobbying Sony and M$.

online passes (EA discontinued this) system that is already in the place. Not the more aggressive route MSFT is taking. People also forget that MSfT and Sony both publish games also. Xbox One will check for a connection once every 24 hours.

I honestly don't care about used games because I buy new anyway. But to try and dictate who I can share my games with is insane. And like I said before, if your account get hacked, people can sell off the games your already purchased. This will, in turn, force you to repurchase that game if you desire to play it. Hope your internet is working at the time.

So if someone buys a PlayStation 4 game, I asked, you're not going to stop them reselling it?

"Aaaah," was Yoshida's initial answer, but seemingly only because he'd forgotten his line. "So what was our official answer to our internal question?" he asked his Japanese PR advisor. The advisor stepped in but didn't seem to answer clearly, at least to my ears. Yoshida then took control again firmly:

"So, used games can play on PS4. How is that?"

Of course they will play, but will Sony tie it only to one account and the second user has to purchase? This is what the real question is, and if it's up to the publisher then that's going to be the real deal because I can see some(EA) saying that's the only route they will go to publish for the console.

I think you're right.

Hey, Paddy Power, what odds will you give me on this result?:

Xbox One - PS Won

:P

supremacy4021d ago

Hey with the way things have been going thus far, it wouldn't surprise me if it did.

SOULJER4021d ago

After all the bad news that keeps coming out of the microsoft reveal, this is a no-brainer.

MasterCornholio4021d ago

With Nintendos focus on the casuals and Microsoft focus on TV lovers i can understand why the PS4 will be the top choice for hardcore gamers.

majiebeast4021d ago

I really dont think Sony is gonna use such a draconian drm as Microsoft is.

1.Ea was buddy buddy with Sony for years and now all of a sudden they arent at Ps4 meeting and show up at Microsoft, With exclusive Fifa 14 content. I think Sony and EA couldnt agree on DRM for PS4 this happend between E3 2012 and the PSmeeting. The same way it might have happend between EA and Nintendo except they cant ignore the Playstation the userbase like they do with the Nintendo one.
2. After the unveiling a SCEE employee tweeted this "Its the console EA has always wanted #xboxreveal

I think Sony will continue with the 10$ online pass for used games and thats it.

MultiVersus Devs Are Teasing Another Steven Universe Character

A MultiVersus developer seems to be suggesting that a new Steven Universe character is going to join the roster soon, something that might even have been backed up by leakers.

We're just a few days away from the long-awaited relaunch of MultiVersus and while most of us are just excited to get our hands on the new Season 1 characters like Jason, Joker, Banana Guard, and Agent Smith, that hasn't stopped Player First Games from teasing some future additions.

This could work and would be very interesting and fun the way these robots break

Cacabunga7h ago

A Lego game? I would never buy it and it’ll flop badly because the Lego games are cartoon or big movie licenses that appeal to casual and families with kids. Horizon no one knows what that is.

Popsicle1h ago(Edited 1h ago)

I agree in that this is not something I am interested in at all. Maybe the target is a Horizon game that doesn’t require a mature audience and can be sold to kids. Just a thought. 🤷

Moving In My 30s Made Me Nostalgic For Physical Games

I lost my drive for collecting physical games due to many discs lacking the whole complete game. Instead, of collecting games I started collected figurines.

Popsicle2h ago

I am a collector have a room dedicated with a couple original arcade cabinets, physical game library, old and new consoles and controllers backlit with LED lighting. It’s very cool to have but with emulation being so strong and prevalent, I sometimes feel foolish because the hobby is expensive and like another said, the full game is not always on the disc. Could probably spend more wisely but I enjoy it.
