May 21st 2013 will go down in history as the day gamers the world over could be heard physically facepalming themselves in utter disappointment. It was on that day that Microsoft unveiled their "next gen console," the XBox One.

Honestly as a owner of both sony and Microsoft stock.I think sony is going to do the best this generation BUT i think Microsoft will do well and there going to marketed it towards families. If they set it at the right price and market it good with some cool application for kinect i think it will sell great with kids and parents.

What sounds appealing to the gamer? The ps4 dose... that's what people don't understand, the next xbox one is not marketed towards gamers or you, they honestly don't give a shit about you.Nintendo found a whole new set of new gamers with wii and there called casuals. There is a huge potential market for this,DragonKnight is a idiot,i did not say even once that the xbox one was good for gamers.Same thing goes for the people who disagreed me for the same reason on the next xbox. You don't see it because your looking from a gamer perspective point of view...

DragonKnight4018d ago

And that's where the problem lies for gamers. What part of any of that sounds appealing to a gamer?

MintBerryCrunch4018d ago

you can be a gamer and utilize all of those features, the issue lies with it being forced on the gamer, if MS makes the majority of this stuff optional then it should be fine since people will again focus on the games once next gen starts rolling

I learned a while ago that users on this site don't think from a logical perspective. They think things from their biased logic. So don't get too annoyed at their opinions

DragonKnight4018d ago

You resort to name calling because I stated a fact? When people hear or read the name "Xbox" they think of video games. They don't think about this family friendly B.S. and Apple crowd garbage that the Xbox One is trying to be. Your entire comment proved my point for me. The Xbox One isn't for gamers. AND THAT'S WHY EVERYONE IS HATING ON IT! This is also a site for gamers, so who the hell do you expect to find that would be, in any way shape or form, happy about a device everyone thought to be a gaming console actually being a glorified cable box?

They really shot themselves not in the foot, but right in head!!!
I mean really? Paying a fee to let your friends play games THAT YOU'RE ALREADY PAYED FOR! Always online every 24 hours or you won't be able to play YOUR SINGLE PLAYER GAMES!!!all that with the possibility of live still for a fee!!?? F**k that! I've been always an Xbox fan but this is a freaking deal breaker right there!!! MS can go screw itself. Wii U and ps4 with a decent PC is all I need for the next generation.

MS this time we won't put up with your crap anymore, that's coming from a hardcore Xbox fanboy who Bought both the OG Xbox and the 360 on launch day.

How is it going to appeal to families if it is expensive, when they could buy the cheaper alternative the 360 w/kinect for $149 (Its coming.)
.
The core market supports the early adoption of a system. And the PS4 will dominate that market.
.
The Xbone will have a limited user base anyway, due to having to have a strong internet connection. So poorer countries, and smaller towns will also get PlayStations. (Remember Adam Orth, Why would I live there? LOL)
.
90% of the features they showed will only be available in the US. This thing is going to get buried in Europe, Asia, and the rest of the PAL region.
.
It will do OK in America. That is it.

DragonKnight4017d ago

You brought up a good point. I have a feeling the Xbox One is going to be more expensive than the PS4.

There are people who will always defend a console, and ignore the negatives.

A few people in my school are praising the Xbox One because of the apps and Kinect... It makes me sad that people really care so much about that, and not the games.

We all have a personal bias towards stuff, but if Sony were to do this I wouldn't even consider buying their console either. Same with Microsoft, I was hoping the next Xbox would have ditched live charges, but it seems they made it worse now. Otherwise I would have considered purchasing it.

It's very shocking to see Microsoft pull this, if I were the head of the division over there I would be scared out of my pants. We'll see what they change and don't change by the time the console arrives.

I don't disagree with what you're saying, I disagreed because you called the dude below you an "idiot" when I think basically he was agreeing with you that the XboxOne doesn not work for gamers
