TopWare Interactive has today launched the retail version release of the arcade space combat simulator Iron Sky: Invasion for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Simultaneously, the German Publisher is also releasing the Iron Sky: Invasion Premium Edition for PC. The premium edition includes all released updates, in addition to the new downloadable content (DLC), The Second Fleet.
GamesAsylum: "If you browse Xbox Live’s ‘Games on Demand’ service regularly you may have seen that Iron Sky: Invasion was recently added. This movie tie-in is one that we’ve never seen in the likes of GAME and CeX, despite it allegedly receiving a UK retail release. The 2012 movie on which it’s based is arguably just as little-known"
Iron Sky was a horribly great B-movie. The recent mobile game inspired by this movie, may be even better.
Iron Sky Invasion is a decidedly less ambitious attempt to revive the classic Wing Commander formula. The follow-up to last year’s 2D shoot ‘em up, it moves in a more streamlined, action-oriented direction, devoid of the trading, exploration, and open-world mischief of some of its competitors. Instead, this stays closer to the Descent: Freespace or Wing Commander traditions, where you’re dropped into a series of combat-based missions, with no ability to go off the reservation.
Great flick! Very good story/visual effects.
Female lead hottie Julia Dietze reminds me of Julie Benz ( Darla of Buffy the Vampire fame ). Stephanie Paul who plays Sarah Palin look-a-like U.S. President looks hot so does Peta Sergeant who plays her advisor.
