Hardcore Gamer: While it looks like Criterion isn't completely abandoning the Burnout series, it's clear there's no plans to produce another game in the series.
Met with derision from existing Burnout-series fans at the time, Burnout Paradise remains arguably the greatest open-world racing game of all time. Here's why.
I played through the remaster quite recently. It's not as good as I remember, but I think a lot of that is because the "open world" thing was still pretty fresh back then.
I do think there's a gap in the market for a game like Burnout. With the new gen they could really make car damage a huge selling point again.
Burnout paradise remastered and original are my favorite, i got the platinum trophy for both games the nighthawk is my favorite car
Personally don't give a shit for open world racers. Give me a new Motorstorm, Split second, Outrun.
GF365: "Here are eight games that need sequels. These games are ones that players would love to experience another time, bigger and better."
Bloodborne is a game I still restart and play every few months. I would welcome just a re release in 60fps with a visual upgrade. It's a perfect game. If I was king for a day I would include the randomizer mods because then it would be a kind of rogue like and I could play it forever.
Need for Speed: Unbound has been revealed, and with Criterion Games serving as the developers, the game has a good chance of pleasing fans.
"Through 2012's Need for Speed: Most Wanted, it demonstrated that it knows how to take a Need for Speed game and knock it out of the park."
You're joking, right? Their take on Hot Pursuit was good, but the Most Wanted reboot wasn't good at all. It was boring, had no visual customization, and the way you collect cars really killed a big part of the NFS experience.
I like what I've seen so far of Unbound so I'll give them the benefit of doubt, but I'm not going to pretend their last NFS was good.
"and with Criterion Games serving as the developers, the game has a good chance of pleasing fans."
The Criterion NFS games are literally some of the worst. Where is Ghost Games at? smh
For me 2012s NFS most wanted was a poor imitation of the 2005 game. They lost its soul on the way to making it a next gen remake which wasn't actually required as most wanted was actually a launch title for the 360.
Imo 2012 most wanted was so sterile and boring abandoned the adt style and lost the sense of speed.
The only positive from that remake was the fact I got to take it on the go with the vita for free with the PS3 version
Wonder what they'll do next.
BOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!! Quit letting EA force yall to do NFS.
Burnout:Paradise was such a terrific game. Loved every minute of it.
I was really looking forward to seeing what they would have in store for a next gen Burnout game. the leap from burnout revenge to paradise just amazed me. Hope they make one at some point in the next gen timeline. And i also think they should sit down and think about Black some more. Played that game over and over again when it came out on PS2.
Well that sucks..
