At a Tokyo event commemorating the release of the .hack “Light Edition” art books, CyberConnect2 CEO Hiroshi Matsuyama touched upon the status of the .hack series.
.hack (Dot Hack) is a gaming series that started when technology was still evolving and growing. These games showed us some of the horrors but also the best parts of online gaming. But these games are decades old, and perhaps it's time for a remake, a remaster, or even a game in the series.
the OG games, yes they do.
but.. they are very niche to begin with.
bk then, i only knew one person who played the games, beside me.
The Xenosaga trilogy also needs a remake or at least a remaster. I never got into .hack when they came out on the PS2 I would try them out. A remake or a remaster would be great I am not paying an arm and a leg for the original games.
CyberConnect2 boss Hiroshi Matsuyama has confirmed that a new .hack game is in development! in its 20th anniversary concert.
Yeeeesss!!!! I hope they vary up the dungeons, but I’m so happy this is a thing
I wouldn't mind some cleaned up remasters of the originals. Those are the ones I have real nostalgia for.
CyberConnect2 just publisher another video featuring President Hiroshi Matsuyama, talking about the possibility to improve older games.
Some people at Neogaf suggested the .hack JRPG remasters should be a PS3 and PS VITA cross-save/cross-buy title. I would totally second that motion!
I would really like for .hack//link to hit states side. Oh and a new .hack rpg series for the playstation 3 or hell even 4 would be nice.
It'd also be pretty cool if they did a remastering of .hack//IMOQ on one blu-ray and .hack//g.u. blu-ray as well or at least psn releases.
I thought the originals were pretty meh, not fan of the fake 4 discs expansion they did when they could make just one release.
