Where the other Sam and Max episodes were content to tell self-contained stories, Episode 204: Chariots of the Dogs ties together the narrative threads from almost every other episode of season two, making for hilarious twists, turns, and revelations a-plenty. The seeds that were sewn in episodes 1-3 finally come to fruition with this most recent installment: in this sense, Chariots of the Dogs proves just how cool episodic gaming can be. Of course, apart from that, it's also got some of the coolest, funniest puzzles in the entire Sam and Max series.
So, yeah. It's really good. Buy the whole season, if only for how this episode ties everything together.

Santa Claus. Father Christmas. Kris Kringle. St. Nick. He's the most benevolent man in the history of the entire existance of the world. The human embodiment of the generosity, joy and Olympic-standard eating that Chrstmas is all about. Truly, he is the best of all of us. So why on earth would you want to fight him? As non-instinctive actions go, it's right up there with sending kittens to war.
But video games make us do it more than you might expect. In fact there are plenty of games that take in, or even culminate in, a violent throwdown with the best person ever. Sometimes these games try to come up with a good reason for it. Sometimes, of course, the jolly bearded man you battle isn't the real Santa at all. Diehard GameFAN: Anyway, I did manage to finish off two games out of my backlog. The first was Marvel Super Hero Squad: Comic Combat and the other was Sam & Max Season 2: Beyond Time and Space. Technically that makes this six games as there are five episodes of Beyond Time & Space, but we’re going to cover the entire season as one game.
Those of you who watch the credits on Sam & Max episodes will be familiar with the name of Joey Camen. The talented voice actor can be recognised in the games as the voice of Bosco and the Two-Teeth family, and has lent his voice to many different games and shows throughout the years.
