Epic Confirms Remnant Warzone Mode in Judgment Not Part of Paid DLC

RipTen: "We reached out to Epic Games directly asking for specific confirmation that Warzone was not one of the two yet-to-be-announced modes slated for release as part of the Judgment paid DLC offerings..." RipTen also asked if gamers should be worried about the mode being patched out and if there are any plans to officially release it.

PaladinXII4066d ago

After all this, it would be pretty bad if they released this as paid DLC later.

SonofMethuselah4066d ago

I'm also confused as to why they can't just polish it up a little bit. I know that takes time, but if it's mostly already there, and they don't plan on pulling it, wouldn't optimizing it be the best course of action?

Nostradavis4066d ago

Agreed. That was asked and it doesn't make sense. Even if it wasn't a popular mode the darn mode is there and it's not like the game has a million modes to start with.

TekoIie4066d ago

Yeh but we've got Execution now. Theres no point in Warzone now we have Execution again

Nostradavis4066d ago

Not true. Warzone is still valid and enjoyable on its own. Execution forces the up close killing unless you use a one shot kill weapon like the Boomshot for example, but with Warzone you have the option to do what you want. You can execute or you can down your opponent with a lancer and use them as bait for one of their teammates then kill them both from a distance. Warzone is the ultimate strategy mode and it has been in all three releases. Sad to see this one kill it.

I'm glad I didn't buy this game. As much as I use to love Gears, the series is going downhill with greed and removing features for no logical reason. Maybe they will get their act together next game/gen.

Nostradavis4066d ago

But but wait! This game has modes in it they won't officially support! Come back!

aquamala4066d ago

for people that want Warzone, Execution, Horde mode... why not just play Gears 3? plenty of people still play it so it's not like its online community is dead

Nostradavis4066d ago

That is exactly what me and my friends are doing. However it doesn't make the fact that this mode is in Gears Judgment and they are refusing to support it officially.

Jek_Porkins4066d ago

Free dlc tomorrow, free map and execution is back!

Epic Games Faces $1.2 Million Fine Over "Unfair Practices," Plans to Fight Back

Epic Games is facing a $1.2 million fine by the Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets over "unfair practices" in the Fortnite shop.

Sciurus_vulgaris1d 19h ago

It might be cheaper to simply pay the fine. Fighting said fine could cost millions due to court and lawyer fees. Fortnite generates well over a 100 million in each month, so Epic has plenty of cash.

franwex1d 11h ago (Edited 1d 11h ago )

But if they did pay it, then they are basically admitting that they did something they weren’t supposed to be doing. If they fight it, they may win and continue to have a sense of urgency for their micro transactions thus making more money long term.

Goodguy011d 3h ago (Edited 1d 3h ago )

Meaning more suits to follow from others if they don't fight as well.

Not a fan of Epic nor fortnite and their micro transactions. But the game is heavily supported and is free to play, all store items are completely cosmetic.

Furesis1d 6h ago

I'd fight back too. These are kinda meaningless reasons to fine someone like really for THAT. It's like they just wanted to make money or something.

Sephiroushin21h ago

There is a law for something, but even if its stupid follow it because if you break it you pay for it; if they knew they cant place a “buy now” in NL then just dont do it!

Why Epic's Win Against Apple And Google Paves The Way For The Future Of Mobile Gaming

Epic Games winning its cases against both Apple and Google is shaping the way forward for the future of mobile gaming.

shinoff218364d ago

I feel alot of mobile gamers are kids which will at some point probably turn to console or pc. Mobile gaming just doesn't cut it for me.

AlterRecs63d ago

tru dat, but i feel like it's gonna be a lot more viable for people who travel a lot or don't want to invest in a full gaming rig. Think of it as a Switch on drugs, with a LOT more room for free illegal downloads.
