Square Enix's interest in reviving its classics is the long-awaited ray of hope and the ideal chance to resurrect adored gems like Xenogears.
Seriously, I mean if anything an HD Remaster. I wish they had the balls to allow the entire story to be made, but I get the financial gamble won't all for it.
Square Enix suggested they might remaster more games from their storied archives—here are the classics we’d like to see get a new coat of paint.
I would definitely enjoy a Xenogears remaster. Recently finished Legend of Dragoon again (this time with platinum trophy) and would love to dive back into Xenogears with Fei and the rest of the crew.
Square Enix classics? dont they mean Squaresoft. Square Enix dont make classic games, just games with pretty graphics, no heart & soul, boring & over stuffed with woke Gen Z cockiness.
But while were on the subject i would love too see a remaster of Front Mission 3.
An unofficial Xenogears HD remaster is now available for download, introducing interface, sprites and texture improvements.
While there are night and day improvements to textures and assets such as character portraits and maps, contrary to the article, it doesn't seem like they touch any sprites with this romhack.
This is how remasters should look, I would love to have this game on PS4/PS5, it really gives the game new life.
Finished this game for the third time in January(last time I played it was 1999) and it`s still one of the best games ever. This is a game with depth. Not a crappy teen bam bam game like: cod, gow, gears, skyrim, halo, killzone, gta, me.
The story is so complex I had to read an analysis twice to get it right because of all the fantastic references throughout.
Glory to Tetsuya Takahashi; a genius.
Indeed. This game made me become interested in important topics such as philosophy and psychology, religions and life without gods.
I went about to study those subjects in Uni and even visited the game creator's home country and stayed there for years because I was interested about the environment one can create such inspiring stories.
This is a game that truly changed my life. It's deep, engrossing and extremely intelligent. And that's what I'm trying to become because of it.
xenogears was and still is a masterpiece. I was relatively young when I finished my 2 playthroughs, would be interesting to finish it again to see how the story holds up
Still need to play this game. it's on PSN right ?
