Germany really seems to be standing up for the point and click adventure. With varying results. At the shinier end is Deck13's Ankh, but more often by the time they're in the English-speaking hands the humour is completely lost by poor translations and localisation. Nevermind the crappy puzzle design that's currently endemic throughout the genre.
So, is there hope on the horizon from German developers Daedalic Entertainment? They've got not seventy, not minus six hundred, but three new point-n-clickers due over the next couple of years.
The Humble Daedalic 15th Anniversary Mega Game Bundle just launched today. It features games like Edna & Harvey: The Breakout, State of Mind, Silence, and more. A percentage goes to support charity.
Skewed and Reviewed has posted a mixed review for the game. They liked the retro fun but said the interface is better for PC and that there have been better games of late to play.
Daedalic Entertainment return to the world of Silence with a sequel to The Whispered World. The Digital Fix rejoins Noah and Spot to point, click and be moved.
So sad these marvels are overlooked by many. Daedalic really publishes the greatest adventure games these days.
