The fellas over at Joystiq sibling blog PS3 Fanboy debunk the rumor that 80% of PlayStation 3 stock was sold out in yesterday's GameStop presale event. They've done the math, and if their pencils are sharp, only about 10% of North America's 400,000 PS3 allotment was sold yesterday.
Where are the rest of the units? Some significant portion of them are probably sitting in a GameStop warehouse awaiting bundling, mega-bundling, and super-ultimate-mega-platinum bundling.
Backward compatibility works for many games on newer consoles, but titles such as The Simpsons: Hit and Run have been left out.
From base building to swinging willies, here are the best survival games around, which include a couple of less than obvious picks.
It turns out that many moons ago, Microsoft once had its eye on the Sony published LittleBigPlanet series.
Microsoft in a nutshell. Always tried to poach Sony employees, games, 3rd party games and devices like the depth camera that was turned into Kinect but was running on PS2 before Xbox 360. Wouldn't be surprised they wanted LBP. Just like they worked behind the scenes pushing the MLB to bring Sony's baseball game to Xbox instead of making their own.

They didn't spend years trying to develop their own baseball game. They wanted Sony's game.
They're scum.
"However, Healey said Media Molecule wouldn't have felt right doing that, adding it would have been "morally corrupt"."
Major kudos to Media Molecule for being an upright studio with principles.
Great, more stories like this please. Show the last of the zombies holding the line what we've been saying for years: Microsoft is anti competition, anti industry and has no interest in making games at all.
But hey, at least there's an Xbox Games Showcase to look forward to, right?
Well considering SONY just killed the series, LBP would've been dead by now either way. Though MM probably wouldn't exist by now either, so I'm glad they stayed with SONY, hopefully they don't get shut down any time soon or ever honestly.
I would hope gamestop isn't going to charge $1000+ for PS3 bundles... they are like the scammers on ebay except with more buying power and distribution networks!
where do the poorer gamers fit into this plan? the students and teenagers?
scammers don't offer more things to go with it to make it worth 1000$. Thats why its called Bundles.
when did poor gamers fit anywhere in the PS3 plan they didn't thats why most of them have already planned on buying a nintendo Wii or others a 360 or already own a 360.
you hurry up and buy the non-bundle. Sony is the one allowing them to make the bundle yell at them.
Stores like Best Buy and Circuit City. I am sure that larger retailers will be receiving the bulk of PS3's.
Sony has spent a ton of money to promote the PS3 in larger retail chains.
And as of right now, none of the large retailers are doing pre-orders.
Gamestop just pwned all of you.
