Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 Punches PS3 Hard-Drives

TGH Writes: "Like many Namco titles, especially fighting titles Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm has an install and it is quite a decent sized one at that even for those who have the larger hard-drives but continue to buy a wide array of titles."

May be a put off for me. Especially considering how much space the PS3 updates already take up! Was looking forward to this game too. Ah well.

Snookies124077d ago

Whaa? It's not even 5 gigs... There are quite a few games that take up just as much or more. It's not like it's anything we haven't seen before in terms of size...

Godchild10204077d ago (Edited 4077d ago )

MLB 13: The Show is almost 4 times the digital size of Naruto on the PS3, if downloaded. This is nothing compared to the Game of the year edition of Uncharted 3 digital.

Info is from the US PlayStation Blog and the recent Blogcast from the PS blog.

FamilyGuy4075d ago

It's like 42Gigs, the thing is, you need double a games file size in-order to install said game on the PS3. That's where the 87gigs thing comes from.

Jag-T10004077d ago

The real question is why do you have to install the game? You don't have to on the 360.

Zechs344077d ago

Because all 360's dont even come with enough storage to warrant mandatory installs, or even big map packs for that matter.

brich2334077d ago

Because otherwise load times will be alot slower. Thats why all ps3 games have to be installed. So you dont have 30 sec to 1 min load times.

tarbis4077d ago

Xbox 360 have 12x DVD read speed compared to 2x read speed of PS3's blu-ray drive.
Also, for 3rd party developers, installs are much easier and saves them development time than try to optimize the read speed.

kreate4077d ago (Edited 4077d ago )

All digital games need to be installed.
Some disk based ps3 games needs to be installed.
Some disk based games are optional install.
Some disk based games doesnt let u install anything.
Patches also need to be installed, if u choose to patch the game.

It just depends on the developers. Sony doesnt have strict mandatory rules.

It's 5 gigs gamershub calm down. Get rid of some of that stuff you don't use on your HDD and you're good to go.

SOD_Delta4077d ago

4.6 gigs isn't even that bad.

Williamson4077d ago

Good timing for this game since the anime's going to have fillers for this month. So I guess I'll be getting further along in the story from the game.

Ps3 though.
Wasted opportunity imo :(

rezzah3030d ago

They dont want to put extra effort ($) into the oldergames.

The money made off of this will support deelopment for the upcoming season pass.

yuukiliu3030d ago

If it was for PS4 that would be amazing. Play through the whole story on 1 system!

LAWSON723030d ago

Recently just bought 2 at GS for $6 and ordered 1 for $17 off eBay, so even if this did come to NA I am to invested to get this.

The Top 8 Games Based on Anime

IGN - Like all the cool special edition PS4s, Japan keeps the best anime video games for itself. Unless it’s from a super popular series like Dragon Ball Z or Naruto, then there’s sadly little chance of games based on anime making it to North America. If a game does receive an official translation, it’s usually several months to years after the initial Japanese release, such as with J-Stars Victory VS+.

Even so, a few gems have made it to North America over the years. Whether you're a huge anime fan or just a gamer looking for some stylish action, you can't go wrong with these 8 awesome anime adaptations.
