Rising Star Games has releases a new trailer for Super Black Bass 3D, a Nintendo 3DS exclusive title set for release on April 2. The game will mark the 16th Black Bass video game, which has appeared on a collective seven different gaming platforms since the original The Black Bass video game came out in Japan for the MSX in 1986 (the franchise made its North American debut on the Nintendo Entertainment System three years later).

Super Black Bass 3D is neither hardcore simulation nor breezy recreational romp. Instead, the game shifts between the two categories, fusing fussy fish catching with ill-fitting motion controls. Amateur anglers longing for an adequate recreation of the pastime are advised to overlook the title; even a catch-and-release rental will likely leave to rebuffing.
As the name implies, Super Black Bass 3D by developer Star Fish is a fishing simulator for Nintendo 3DS. You play as either a male or female who enters the fishing tournament at Genesis Hole. Aided by Mary, a young woman who plans on opening a boat rental store, you are taught the basics of fishing and how to ‘fight’ your underwater adversaries.
After entering the tournament, you must work your way through five different tiers – Local, Amateur, Bass Professional, Professional and World Anglers. The lower tiers are free to enter, but certain fishing requirements and fees are required to progress through the ranks.
I actually want to play this game. It looks good and I love fishing titles.
