There’s been significant buzz coming out of the Microsoft camp concerning the next generation of Xbox. The reality is that we aren’t hearing anything concrete. Chris Lewis, a Microsoft insider, had mentioned the Xbox 720 could be released even as the Xbox 360 continues to sell. You may be asking what the reasoning is behind this.

At GDC next month MS should at LEAST confirm they have a new system, put end to the blocking used games rumors, as well as address other rumors floating about.

OT: I'm sure it wont be doomed, seeing as people are paying for it now. Maybe they'll lose some customers, unless they give us more rewards, somewhat like PS+ is offering.

IMO, they should make playing online free, and add some stuff to gold to make people want to subscribe to it.

If it doesn't happen, oh well. Just don't up the price (even though you'd probably still be able to find it for cheap) of LIVE.

But really if people paid for XBLG this gen I pretty sure they're(some to most of them) willing to pay for it next gen.

F2P option would be great, heck even a B2P option would be better than the current model.

Like any company that have something that brings in a profit, I doubt MS will let it go free.

I don't see them getting rid of Gold either. I actually see myself as being one of the people who will pay for it, but at the same time I'm also thinking about the fact that the PS4 will probably offer up pretty much the same features for free.

Nobody knows if the console even exits, and they already predicting it's doom. Let it be presented and released before writing stupid articles. Same goes for the PS4... let it be released, then you can judge.

Of any feature, game or announcement nothing would excite me more this April than the promise to permit silver member access to online play. at the least. any I see or hear after that might just be an afterthought

The difference is you don't get nearly or even half the community going into a MS/Nintendo article, waiving pitchforks and screaming "media bias" like a Sony article generates.

This shouldn't be happening for ANY console, PERIOD!

It's not like they are perfect, but there are clearly people in here (PS3 users, Nintendo Users and 360 users) who keep trolling, sharing and making doom articles. The fact that we we all are commenting and paying attention to this is only contributing to make the problem worse. These articles are made for hits and hits only. If they are ignored, they will die along with the website that keeps making them.

Dumb article but I dont expect ms to make xbl free anytime soon. They make alot of money from xbl. They will find a way to persuade gamers why xbl is worth paying for. Prolly add a feat the ps4 wont have & alot of fanboys will fight over why its good or bad. For me personally im not paying to play online. Hopefully they make online play free & gold will be for everything else.
