Metal Gear Countdown: Top 5 Fight Scenes

The Metal Gear series is known for many things, one of them being fight scenes. Those can stand out for a number of reasons, ranging from great choreography and camerawork to importance to the story and symbolic nature. Below are the five fight scenes, and an explanation why each was chosen.

Old Snake vs Liquid-Ocelot by far. That scene recaps the entire series best part of mgs4 for me.

Nyxus4109d ago

Yeah, that was very nicely done, with the music and life bars from the previous games, chronologically.

"Old Snake vs Liquid-Ocelot by far"

Agreed.

Big Boss V Young Ocelot when Snake is escorting Sokolov. When Ocelot stops him and(tries)to eject the bullet by hand (using a technique in the battlefield for the first time or something like that)That CQC was amazing. Not having that on your list is a Sin.

Although not a playable fight it is still one of my favourites. C'mon he wiped out an Ocelot unit while kicking Ocelots ass.

Heisenburger4108d ago (Edited 4108d ago )

But was Ocelot actually trying? Not insinuating that Ocelot would be a match for Naked Snake. But given his actual mission, I like to think that things such as his gun jamming were done by Ocelot on purpose.

The second playthrough of MGS3 I started thinking things like *that.

:)

5. Solid Snake vs Psycho Mantis
4. Raiden vs Solidus
3. MG Ray vs MG Rex
2. Naked Snake vs The Boss
1. Solid Sanke vs Liquid Ocelot

edit: oops. titles says top fight scenes, not battles. o well, these are my top 5 boss battles.

Nyxus4109d ago

Yeah, they are boos battles, but good choices within that category if you ask me!

DoomeDx4109d ago

Why reply first before reading the article if I may ask?

Number-Nine4109d ago

I wanted to see if my favorites matched with their favorites before I read the article. I skimmed through the title and misread it...oops!

Kyosuke_Sanada4109d ago (Edited 4109d ago )

I really liked the Naked Snake vs Young Ocelot fight. I was especially surprised that he managed to learn a few things about CQC from the previous scuffles with Snake.

Number-Nine4109d ago

i think i would swap out the resistance fight with that. epic fight scene on the plane.

pbasson4109d ago

I Disagree, this game series is too epic to make a top 5. That is insult to the series. I mean what about the fight The End, theres more than one way to do it. What about MGS4 Vamp Vs Raiden, that was crazy epic. I mean what about the fight with Grey Fox and you cant shoot him. Basically there cant be 5 when every fight is epic.

Nyxus4109d ago

Of course there are many more great ones, but this top 5 isn't meant as an absolute truth or something. Just see it as a way to think about the best fight scenes, and to put these five into the spotlight.

PlayStation 3 Games That Desperately Need a PS5 Remaster

The PlayStation 3 may not have been the strongest generation for Sony, but there were still some diamonds in the rough that deserve a revisit as PS5 remasters.

Even if they could just remaster and put on PSVR2, some would still look great as VR titles and could do a whole lot to bolster the headset w these exclusives! I'd imagine the investment of reworking these titles into VR would be way less than building new games from the ground up, and they could be amazing experiences, and VR often makes flat games feel fresh again. The Resistance and Killzone games are particularly what I want to see!!

Rude-ro63d ago

I played killzone 3 in 3d and it really changed the game per being immersive.
In vr, that would be even more awesome.

darthv7263d ago

Funny you mention that... my son wanted to play some PS3 games in 3d on my PS tv and he was blown away by how good KZ3 was. It really was a great addition to the game. Im surprised there have not been more 3d games from that era being ported to the PSVR/VR2.

_SilverHawk_63d ago

resistance 1-3, killzone 1-3, uncharted 1-3, uncharted golden abyss, folklore, socom 4 , motorstorm, twisted metal, MAG, heavenly sword

Cacabunga63d ago

Killzone 2+3
Sly Thieves in Time
Crack in Time
God of War Ascension
Motorstorm
Modnation racer
Infamous 1+2

Profchaos63d ago (Edited 63d ago )

Killzone trilogy in VR would be amazing bonus points if they offer shadow fall.

There was a psvr1 Killzone project that supermassive was working on at one stage which wasn't up to scratch and Sony brand it back in house I was hoping we would see that on psvr2 eventually.

Personally I'd love to see some more love or acknowledgement of psvr2 from Sony in general it was a expensive headset and Sony barely acknowledge it's existence

seanpitt2363d ago

The amount of work needed to remaster these games wouldn't be beneficial on a financial and business sense.. MGS4 would probably be the best bet as it would need the least amount of work!

Iceball200064d ago

YEAAASSSSS! I miss this franchise and wanna play it so bad again.

Father__Merrin64d ago

The time is perfect for a resistance fall of man game campaign coop multiplayer

InUrFoxHole64d ago

The resistance series is str8 trash to me. Socom 3 I would welcome. Or killzone MP.

Marcus Fenix64d ago

A Resistance reboot will be awesome

Michiel198964d ago

That's what Bungie should make, Ill keep saying it until it happens

1Victor64d ago (Edited 64d ago )

Resistance was ok but Warhawk and Starhawk was better and kept me coming back for almost a decade of fun and petty revenge on the loud mouth unskilled players 🤣
Edit I loved capture the flag dropping the pot on the flag carrier was extremely satisfying as well as transforming your plane in bot form and stumping them to death 😱

Resistance was the best co-op fps I ever played after L4D2

I think your enjoyment of Twin Snakes comes down to if you played the PS1 original first or not.

thesoftware730117d ago

Not really, Played and enjoyed both when they were released.

The original was better, but TTS had that Jon Woo charm, and was enjoyable all the way through.

Jingsing117d ago

The original soundtrack was missing in Twin Snakes and for me audio is half the experience. Original OST was iconic.

MehmetAlperTR116d ago

Thats the reason that i didnt like the game... Graphics not everything.

CrimsonWing69116d ago

The only things that held this back for me were Naomi's voice acting and the music being changed when you end Sniper Wolf in the cutscene.

Other than that I thought the cutscenes and game were absolutely phenomenal.

P_Bomb116d ago

Still have my copy. One of the first games I hunted down for my GameCube.
