Remember that rumor from EGM that pointed to a Dead Rising sequel coming from a Western developer? Kotaku heard a similar but slightly different rumor from a source that also says development duties are being shifted stateside, specifically at Vancouver-area third-party Blue Castle Games. If you're not familiar with the name, you may remember Blue Castle from its work on The Bigs for 2K Sports. While the relatively young, 100-person strong development studio is known only for its multi-platform sports title, it is currently listing an unnamed "action game" for the Xbox 360 as one of three projects on its plate.
The Dead Rising series has enjoyed a long and storied history over the years, but which game in the series is best?
Over the last week, Jake has been going back to the Dead Rising 2 Off The Record remaster and has been an absolute blast. When he was 15 he first got his Xbox 360 and Dead Rising with it, it was unlike any other experience. It made him wonder though, what happened to the Dead Rising series.
Interesting timing. This retrospective was released just a few days ago: https://youtu.be/Et-cKSrWuc...
They took away the depth and charm of the game that made it fun and interesting, and made it into a generic zombie killing game.
This was the series the got me to buy an Xbox 360. The first one was so good. It still had horror elements. As it went on it became kind of a parody. Never forget getting Zombie Genecider achievement and then restarting the game to get the Mega Buster. That thing was monstrous against enemies.
Some video game weapons are so outlandish they could never realistically be used, and that's why they're on our list of the 10 most impractical weapons in gaming.
This would be horrible news if true.
Am I the only one who wants a new Dead Rising more than a new Resident Evil?
Yeah...I thought so :(

then they better not screw it up. The original game wasn't perfect by any means, but it was a great start to what could be another outstanding franchise for Capcom. The last thing they need is for the second game to come out and underwhelm (or suck) compared to the first game. They were able to get by with Devil May Cry after the 2nd game, but they may not be able to this time. Handing the reigns over to another team like that is risky, and if true, I hope they know what they are doing. At least Silent Hill 5, despite being made by western developers, seems to be going in a good direction, so there is still hope for this game.
