Zen Pinball 2 Preview | GameRevolution

GR: As much as I'd like to brag, I've never been very good at pinball. The machines in the pizza joint down the street from my house took quite a few quarters, but never offered the enjoyment I got from games like Microsoft's Space Cadet pinball.

With Zen Pinball 2, Zen Studios is hoping to bring that same whimsical approach to pinball to the Wii U (as they have on both PS3 and PlayStation Vita). Much of the game remains unchanged, but getting a chance to go hands on with many of the boards available at launch on Wii U gave me that Windows 98 feeling all over again.

I love Space Cadet pinball, but do people really care about this anymore?

Zen Pinball is so good. Probably one of those games that won't benefit too much from being on the Wii U at this point. The only customers likely inclined to shop online on a Nintendo console quite likely already have Zen Pinball for PS3 Vita, or 360.

I think it should do well on Wii U as it is a family friendly game. Also, it's the kind of game that in every way is timeless. It's a title that people will buy throughout a console life cycle because it will never seem like it's dated. pinball in it's essence is timeless as well, so that helps.

I love it on my Vita but not on a fan on the console. It's great on a handheld though.

I absolutely agree. I think many people miss the point of cross buy/play games or spin off games from PS3 to Vita. Some games that were originally developed for the home consoles are just more fun to play on a handheld. Some would disagree with that, but isn't it great that we have the CHOICE to play at home or on a handheld?

Retro City Rampage and Zen are too great examples of games more fun on the Vita. Disgaea and Many other JRPGs are good ones too.

Totally agree with you.
