Activision on Nuketown 2025 for Wii U

"This evening I finally received official word from Activision's tech support, and unfortunately it's not great news, but I'm sure it's what most of us expected... basically tough crap for Wii U owners for the foreseeable future."

That sucks. But hopefully they will offer it as a free DLC down the road. It would be a double slap in the face to not offer it for the people who preordered the game, and then force us to have to pay for the map in the future.

what doesn't everyone get FFS?! Microsoft and Activision ARE IN BED which means the only system that they are EVER going to care about is the 360. If you want Call of Duty in a proper form, you MUST buy a 360. sucks, but it's the truth. Microsoft knows they have no games so they do stuff like that. I've played on PS3 for the last few years due to friends and this year I couldnt take it so I made the switch. So far fairly smooth running, or at least as smooth as it will get. haha, fucking re-hashed crap. addicting re-hashed crap, but regardless.

Real gamers are waiting for the new Xbox and PS. Activision knows this and has no interest in catering to the casual crowd that buy Nintendo consoles.

Its business, live with it.

The only thing that could make that post dumber would be if you attempted to define "Real gamers" in it. I'm fairly certain your top five games would be FPS's, feature "dudes" in futuristic armour and boast a mostly brown palette.

Real gamers? What a lame thing to say.

"It’s basically tough crap for Wii U owners for the foreseeable future and makes you wonder just what Nintendo’s doing behind the scenes that’s forcing all of the third parties to delay or cancel their Wii U DLC."

So Activision is suddenly all of the third parties? I can't think of any other cancelled or delayed DLC for Wii U.

MrMiyamoto4192d ago

Ubisoft has delayed Assassin's Creed 3 DLC already and EA more or less said that they're not providing DLC like Omega for Mass Effect 3. THQ also has made no announcements regarding further DLC for Darksiders 2 even though it's being released on the other platforms.

I'd say that's pretty much everybody who has strong DLC content offerings, and Wii U thus far is only seeing what they decide to include on the discs.

These are all different things. Delayed isn't canceled, and it's understandable for a new console's DLC to be delayed.

For Mass Effect 3, what you have is a different company that did the port job. They did their job....and THEN Mass Effect 3 Proper EA made another DLC. So what you have is a situation where they'd have to contract with that 3rd party again to bring that DLC. Thus this is a unique situation based around the fact the ME3 Wii U version was late, and isn't indicative of a regular EA release with the rest.

With Nuketown, we really don't know what's going on. They did advertise it and they did say they were going to bring it, only to do a 180.

Nintendo isn't keeping people from having DLC, and as has been stated, there are no patch costs. Generally Nintendo's online shop has been praised.

It's probably just more along the lines of having to deal with Nintendo store for the first time both on that end, and the specific coding within the Wii U.

It could also be seeing if they can wiggle out of spending any more money with the justification that they spend money on the gamepad features and such. In that case it IS Activision.

Now if there's DLC problems with games released 6-12 months from now, THEN I'd wonder what's up. Right now, it's just quite a few different things going on, and the only one that is stated as not coming (which is what matters) is Mass Effect 3's, and that's an EA problem, not Wii U....though of course it impacts Wii U. But shouldn't reflect on Nintendo's DLC situation going forward.

I don't even have this map on 360! Bullshit preorder bonus.

Another L for Xbox, when are they going to have good news?

MrDead19d ago

I would read the article but the giant pop-ups from the top and bottom of the screen made me close it.

Without reading $23.4 million isn't a deterrent for a company that size.
