Games Radar Previews Metal Gear Online

After a few hours with Metal Gear Online, we didn't want to leave. It felt like being 9 years old again - you know, when you're having fun at your mate's house and then your mum turns up to take you home. We wanted to play all day, because Metal Gear Online is ace.

i wonder what that catapult is for. MGS4 isnt really known for its online and i am glad there are two different teams working on both so one isnt holding back the other. MGS online will keep mgs4 fans happy for a long time. Excitement for mgs4 for me isnt something i can express. If they delay it one more time i will explode

The fastest i can download data here is 57-72kbps. I live on a small island in the middle of the pacific ocean. I have lots of family in the states which is where i get all my games from.

everyone that comes here. Well tourist mainly don't want to leave as they claim its paradise. Slow pace of life, warm weather all year round, white sandy beaches etc,etc. Its not worth it from me to give them up yet. Sooner or later we will get underwater fiber so we might actually have High speed internet soon as well. In the mean time its SP games for me like its been for the last 20 years.

Western Samoa to be exact. Not American Samoa which is a US territory which we consider as our brother and sisters as we have the same native lanuage and customs. Some of the well know of NFL players are descendents from the Samoa islands.

MGO for PS2 was a decent effort, but hurt by level size in some cases and the lack of team cohesion.

MGO on the PSP improved it a lot.

MGO on the PS3 should be awesome.

sounds Awesome.. except for the auto aim thing.. That is pure crap in COD4.. I can see for Single player.. but for online its annoying.. Snipers dont even aim.. The tap L1 and then R1 real fast and its an instant kill.. Auto aim or Aim assist should be takin off all Online play.. I guess thats why I love socom.. The game is more diverse between average and Really good players...

i agree completely i find it very annoying to have aim assist in fact i will purposely play online with it off even though i know i could get a better score it just feels really cheap to get points that way i cant bring myself to do it, i will be happy when online games dont have aim assist

cant wait to play socom (although i will be broke this year for all the games i am going to buy)

that mgs4 has the online with it, i feel as if i will be buying a game and a half the sp mode is a game in itself and the online is icing that makes it even more desirable

Yes. The starter pack, which includes 100+ weapons/modifications and a few maps. More maps will be downloadable, ala Halo 3 and every other shooter nowadays.

mgs is a single player game at heart and i wasnt expecting anything spectacular out of the multiplayer but if they actually pull of the mutliplayer then.......................... ..........

the life will be taken over this summer. i shall no longer have friends except for snake and mgs SINGLE PLAYER has so much replay value and then they have mg online to top it off. IM HAVING A METAL GEAR BONER RIGHT NOW............... (looks in embarrassement)

damn, i was really looking forward to this game. it's one of the MANY reasons i'm excited about buying a ps3 this spring. but, auto aim in online multiplayer? give me a break. hopefully there will be a multitude of servers with no auto aim. i'd rather play with people that are talented enough at fps to not need auto aim. either way it's just lame to me. just my opinion though.

Well I was getting mgs4 regardless so this is just a bonus if it does indeed come with the game.

Auto Aim would be way lame though so hopefully there are servers where there is no auto aim. What seems almost as lame is no voice communication on a team game? Wtf kinda sh*te is that?

Dont worry, in MGO, you go through different phases of tryin to keep up with the rest of the players, in MGO1 when somebody learnt a new technique everyone else had to learn that technique or they were gona lose!!

Auto Aim takes way longer to kill someone, headshots are instant.
And you learn ways to combat Auto Aim, use of the box is one, but i never knew if this wa intentional when they made MGO1
I hope they keep all the little glitches that made MGO awesome!

there was no mention of auto aim (i think) until someone mentioned it here. there was auto aim in subsidence because the camera was still not right. now with the over the shoulder and presumably first person mode online, the need for an autoaim is obsolete.

My only concern is Konami not including Metal Gear Online with MGS4. Unless it is than I'll be crying tears of joy but last I heard which was a while ago it was coming separate which I cant see why you wouldn't want that knowing how powerful a MGS4 with multilayer combo will be.
