OPM: Think you’ve played it all? Think you’re an authority on Playstation’s early years? Have a gander at these forgotten, forbidden and fabulous PSOne gems and get back to us…
A trip down the nostalgia lane, or a historical journey the games that gave birth to the hack and slash genre. Here are the best ones.
Square Enix suggested they might remaster more games from their storied archives—here are the classics we’d like to see get a new coat of paint.
I would definitely enjoy a Xenogears remaster. Recently finished Legend of Dragoon again (this time with platinum trophy) and would love to dive back into Xenogears with Fei and the rest of the crew.
Square Enix classics? dont they mean Squaresoft. Square Enix dont make classic games, just games with pretty graphics, no heart & soul, boring & over stuffed with woke Gen Z cockiness.
But while were on the subject i would love too see a remaster of Front Mission 3.
The PlayStation (PSX or PS1) was home to a whole load of amazing games. The system is arguably the best console for RPGs and helped revolutionize sports and shooter games. With such an influx of overwhelmingly great PS1 RPGs and other games, it’s only natural that a few would slip through the cracks.
I thought Dune 2000 was something I made up in my head. I used to ask my brothers about the sand level in Command and Conquer. The interface is like dead-on.
I’m fairly certain Parasite Eve was not underrated. The game got a greatest hits release and is pretty fondly remembered to this day.
The Quest Mode for Ehrgeiz is phenomenal. Really good looking ps1 game that benefits from modern emulation.
I find it weird Um Jammer Lammy being so unknown when I think it's much better than Parappa. It even has a secret second half which you play as Parappa himself, with rap versions of the songs.
However, while Parappa is famous and his first game even got a remaster, Um Jammer Lammy stays forgotten.
Official Playstation Magazine UK listing 7 games that weren't released in the UK and giving the header "7 Playstation classics you’ve genuinely never heard of", WTF. I could go to Japan and say, I bet you've never heard of "Yorkshire Puddings" and get no as a response, but guess what, I won't bother. This is NOT news worthy.
Other titles aside, Brave Fencer Musashi, and Jade Cocoon, are both fairly well known titles.
Brave Fencer was amazing!!!
what the hell? brave fencer mushashi?? seriously? it's like saying tomba is not popular.
Played all of these man. Get your list straight. I think I still have Brave Fencer under my bed somewhere.
