Quicksave - Everybody's Golf 5 Demo Impressions

Quicksave writes:

"Hoping to stir up interest, this past Thursday, the European PSN store received an exclusive gift in the form of an English demo of Everybody's Golf 5. A significant time has passed and the PlayStation 3 is not as content starved as it was 8 months ago. Standards have changed and Everybody's Golf 5 would have to be really impressive to squeeze out $59.99 CAD from me. Does it? Not quite and here's why."

this is gunna be more playable than tiger

khellendros15916d ago

I'm actually looking forward to this game. I love it on the PSP and I played the other ones a lot on the PS2. It should be a game that's easy to pick up and play when you want to get a quick game in. I've always liked this better than the Tiger Woods series.

NegativeCreepWA5916d ago

Looking forward to this game. Kind of disappointed theirs no voice chat though. I was hoping to talk with friends, while golfing.

Gandhi695915d ago

I must admit, this is probably one of my most anticipated games for the ps3, for the following reasons.

1.) Fun ~ As everyone already knows, hot shots golf is easy to play and just fun for the whole family.

2.) Realism. Some may disagree with me hear, but I will always argue that Hot Shots golf is more realistic than Tiger Woods. Now obviously, Tiger LOOKS more like real golf, but hot shots plays more like real golf. You can't put spin while the ball is in the air, and it is much more difficult to shoot like -20 under par which happens in tiger way to often. As an avid golfer in real life, playing a round of Hot Shots golf makes you make decisions that much closer replicate the real thing than Tiger Woods.

3.) Drinking Game. My roommates and I play a drinking game with this game that pretty much has become legendary with my group of friends. It works as follows, anywhere from 3-8 people can play (if 8, you just have two people alternate shots with a particular character) and you play a standard, stroke play match with 18 holes. However, every beer you drink, counts as 1 stroke off your score. So if one team/player finishes 8 under par with 8 beers, that puts him at 16 under. If another guy finishes 7 under par with 10 beers, that puts him at 17 under and the winner of the match. Its a blast!

March 18th can't come soon enough.

I don't agree with most of this preview. He's playing a demo, not the complete version. Graphics will probably be a little better. The gameplay is suppose to be simple and rustic, the game shines in the depth of the content. You get addicted trying to unlock everything. The new swing mechanism should be fun for new and old players. Of course, it'll be nice if this was both a PSN and regular disc game and selling for only 39.99 but that's only wishful thinking. Again, I can't wait for this.

Sony's ten finest exclusive franchises

Digitally Downloaded wrote: "While Nintendo's first party studios are held to an almost impossible standard, Sony does not get enough credit for its own first party studios. They're quite awesome, too. Sony's stable of exclusives have significantly improved over the past generation, offering content that you cannot find anywhere else but PlayStation. This top ten list features what I consider to be the ten best Sony franchises. From Kratos to Nathan Drake, Jak and Daxter to Ratchet & Clank, and Wipeout to Gran Turismo, PlayStation fans have been spoiled rotten by these franchises."

Something that isnt on the list Infamous its such a great franchise.

Conzul4062d ago

Dafuq? Infamous is easily top 5 Sony material. I enjoyed it way more than Killzone or Gran Turismo.

Ezz20134062d ago (Edited 4062d ago )

WHAT ?! infamous games are one of the best this gen

and also 10 sony's franchises is not fair since they have alot more of amazing franchises

Derekvinyard134062d ago

I would take infamous over wipeout any day

VonBraunschweigg4062d ago

inFamous should have made the list, but if it isn't too much trouble, can you please edit your comment to let's say, Hotshots Golf or something? I mean not WipEout man, not my beloved WipEout HD Fury online Eliminator. With the 2097 hud & soundtrack. With the female announcer. Contender...eliminated:)

Thanx

HonestDragon4053d ago

Freaking A right. Infamous is hands down one of the best Sony franchises around.

where the heck is infamous,it deserves a spot on that list, though it is a top 10,id probably swipe infamous in for hot shots golf, only because hot shots isnt my type of game.

LOGICWINS4062d ago

If this were my list, Yakuza and Infamous would without question be at the top of the list.

MattS4062d ago

Yakuza isn't Sony. It's Sega.

I agree with you though. I love that series.

LOGICWINS4062d ago

To my knowledge, there has never been a Yakuza game created for a non- Sony platform. So its a Sony platform exclusive. But I see what your saying. You mean games published by Sony.

Tito084061d ago (Edited 4061d ago )

Dude you and your delusional logics, Yakuza isn't a Sony IP, and isn't published by Sony, the only reason you don't see the Yakuza games on any other platform is because when they first worked on the first game, it was supposed to be a multiplat, but of the 3 console makers, only Sony gave them the green light as opposed to Nintendo & Microsoft. It is a 3rd party game regardless of exclusivity, the article is about 1st party games, if Sony ever bought the riggts for the IP, then yeah it should be on the list!

It is very evident you want to add something that has nothing to do with the subject to get other people angry, keep your "Logics" somewhere!

_FantasmA_4061d ago

It technically does count as an exclusive since you know its exclusive.

nosferatuzodd4062d ago

what? you kidding me wipe out is way better than fzero ..

dafegamer4062d ago

Where the heck is Infamous? Also add the recently Gravity rush to the list too. It should belong to sonys exclusive powerhouses

I_am_Batman4062d ago (Edited 4062d ago )

I would add Resistance as well.

dafegamer4062d ago

yup amazing series. I really hope we get a ps4 installment

Will be picking up LBPK for 10 dollars. This might be the closest PS3 users will get to a steam sale on PSN.

A step in the right direction, Sony.

@Nitrowolf2, I have the Jak & Daxter and Ratchet & Clank collections on Disc, but if I didn't that would be a great way to get into those games.

Unfinished Swan was on sale during the Holiday Essentials sale and I missed it, so this time I don't plan on doing that again.

Nitrowolf24115d ago

The Unfinished Swan – Regular $14.99, Sale $7.49, PS Plus $3.75
Ratchet & Clank – Regular $14.99, Sale $7.49, PS Plus $3.75
Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy – Regular $7.99, Sale $3.99, PS Plus $2.00

Already have the colelction, but since I'm Plus those prices are just to good to miss.

calis4114d ago

So you're buying a game you already have?

KangarooSam4114d ago (Edited 4114d ago )

Those are the three I'm planning on getting :P

I think. lol.

Great sale!

Edit: LBP Karting looks fun too, though. Not sure whether to get LBPK and US or US, R&C, and J&D. I need a sale where all four of those cost $15 haha.

Nitrowolf24114d ago

@Calis

Yeah I am, $2.00 is dirt cheap, it'll be nice to have the extra digital version.

MikeMyers4114d ago

Some good deals. Definitely getting The Unfinished Swan.

8 of the best PS3 sports games that aren’t FIFA or PES

To hear some people talk you’d think sport starts and ends with football. Obviously that’s not the case so here are 8 of the best non-footy athletic activities. From face kicking to golf. Yes, golf.
