Jackson from Dusty Cartridge writes: As Tupac Shakur once said “I see no changes, wake up in the morning and I ask myself is life worth living or should I blast myself?” Although Tupac struggled with the way the world treated African-Americans in his neighbourhood, I share his sadness when it comes to changes in the Pokémon franchise. With the sheer amount of Pokémon games that have been released in my lifetime, I really think that Game Freak is holding on to a few to many ancient game mechanics that need to be overhauled. So before the inevitable release of some sort of Pokémon 3DS, I thought I’d look at three things that need to change.
A swan song is a game that sends off an aging console out to pasture. Not all are great, but these 10 made their console owners proud.
Beautiful article. BOTW was a perfect swan song for the Wii U. Despite its flaws, I loved that damn thing!
I originally tried out Final Fantasy IX cuz I was interested in swan song titles after beating God of War 2
BOTW is my personal fav here. Seriously such a fantastic game. I played it on Switch but form what I've read, the Wii U version is totally fine!
The Last of Us?
The perfect story telling game from a console and company known for their story telling as well as a GOTY record breaking game that was a completely new IP.
Is Kabutops a distant ancestor to Genesect? Was Venonat supposed to evolve into Butterfree? Melissa Buranen from Bit Cultures presents these theories and more.
Ever wanted to get into competitive Pokemon? Now’s the time! The Lost Levels Podcast explains how competitive Pokemon battles work!
the 3rd one was "fixed" so you could enable it on and off but then they just got rid of it to make room for that stupid c-gear that i barly use and leave on at all its turned off all the time to save battery.
Also i would like the game to be like mega man in that you can fight any one of the gym leaders when you wanted to but keep the exploration of the game.
In my personal opinion, there are new things worst than the older one. That stupid C-Gear. You know? I was happy in Soulsilver/Hearthgold. I was able to acces all my menu without pressing X! How awesome! And I can map two quick access to items! And fix the run so I can run without pressing a button! It was a bless.
And then, black & White came and felt like I was playing in a GBA again.
How about custom clothing... Hairstyles, etc... If the DS Yugioh games could do this I'm sure a 3DS PKMN game could.
I feel the only thing that could save it at this point would be to reinvent the events. Maybe it's tried and true, but going through the gyms in the same manner every single time, gets old.
1.Give it a story that actually matters
2. DON'T add more pokemon this time
3. Make it a contiuation where u can somehow start off with your same character and party from the last game
4. no random battles, let us be able to see whats about to battle us before hand, so we can maybe chase a shiny while being spammed by zubats in a cave
5. include more than just 1 region to explore
