Assassin's Creed 3's PS3-exclusive content: is it worth it?

SN writes: Did you realize that the Battle of West Point was won almost single-handedly by one pissed-off Mohawk native? This is just one Assassin’s Creed 3's Fractured Fairy-Tale takes on American history, but it has the distinction of being exclusive to the PS3. For those having to choose between the various versions of the game, does this bonus content tip the scales?

he says no though. But I bet if it were exclusive to the Xbox this article wouldn't exist.

LOGICWINS4226d ago

It's FREE extra content. If your a gamer, how could it NOT be worth it?

GribbleGrunger4226d ago (Edited 4226d ago )

agreed.

This is just a stupid proposition and not worthy of discussion:

'Do you want more content?'
'No, it's not worth it'

Where do they incubate these people?

ronin4life4226d ago (Edited 4226d ago )

He didn't say no, he said it wasn't that big a deal either way, but that since it is extra it obviously makes the ps3 version better. Just not SO much that non PS3 fans should be upset over it.

That's what I took away from his comment.

So basically he's doing damage control? Ok.

MikeMyers4226d ago

If both games cost $60 and the PS3 version has more content then of course people should pick that one given the choice. The article is just suggesting it's not a deal breaker and the added content really isn't that much. As a PS3 owner I would get the PS3 copy but there's no sense in not getting the Xbox 360 game if you prefer Xbox Live, or don't own a PS3 and are thinking of getting a PS3 just for the added content.

knowyourstuff4225d ago

Better to have it than not too. I hear people complain all the time when devs decide to add multiplayer in a previously single player only game. WHY are you complaining, it adds more variety and replay value, even if it isnt the best..no ones forcing you to hop on dead space 2s multi or mass effect 3s multi. There still bonuses though.

Tainted Gene4226d ago

By developing a game with single/multiplayer the developer is forced to divide their b/w the two sides.... where as when it was just a single player experience (Bioshock, MGS2, God of War) they can totally focus all their time and more importantly resources on just the single player and thus making it a better game.

Basically multiplayer literally takes away from the single player experience and its difficult to have both and each be at a high caliber

Tired4226d ago

He makes no mention of the bonus content you get for syncing AC:liberation to your PS3, should you have a vita and both games.

No pleasing some people.

typikal824226d ago

Does syncing it give any AC3 PS3 unlocks?

I liked what AC2 and Bloodlines did.

NastyLeftHook04226d ago

yes, i want the superior version.

Games with the dumbest NPCs

Non-playable characters in certain games are meme material, thanks to their foolish behavior. These are the big-budget games with the dumbest NPCs.

Bethesda makes the most consistently stupid NPCs, like really bad... yet I still can't help but love playing their games. Guilty pleasure, I guess. *sigh* 😩

How did redfall not make the cut.

Every Bethesda game and Every Halo game. This list needed to have Cyberpunk somewhere.

My first thought was the safe rooms in the resident evil series. When you hear that enchanting music you know you’re safe.

Killer2020UK312d ago

I literally just came here to post this. That music in the Resi 1 safe rooms is playing in my head.

I was thinking TLOU work benches. Although I remember one time where it was a false security.

Perfect. 👌👌

I'd add the top of my highrise apartment in GTA Online. That calm, quiet peace, just knowing as soon as I step out that door I will be bombarded by 8 and 12 year olds calling each other n**** and f****, trolled by combat jets and rocket launchers.

The entire map of SotC is peaceful as hell. Used to just ride around exploring it.

mastershredder312d ago (Edited 312d ago )

Afterlife in Cyberpunk 2077 is a peaceful area? Erm, hands down and very hard to miss, Misty Olszewski's Esoterica is the absolute epitome of peaceful areas in that game.

raiden_188312d ago

The "last of us" deer location i found to be a welcoming respite. It was nice to not have someone trying to eat me.

RPGer312d ago

Kingdom Hearts tend to present half peaceful areas and most of them are amazing.

'Assassin’s Creed III': Ten Years Later

With the recent reveal of Assassin’s Creed Mirage and the promise that the series will return to its roots, there hasn’t been a better time to get stuck into Assassin’s Creed’s back catalog, whether it’s replaying an old favorite or getting lost in previously looked-over classic.

Ten years later, we miss the old you, Assassin's Creed.

Popsicle586d ago (Edited 586d ago )

I really enjoyed Assassins Creed 3. My only complaint was that I didn’t enjoy when I had to switch from Connor to Desmond. It’s a personal preference, but Connor’s story was just more fun for me.

On a side note, Black flag was the most enjoyable of the AC games I played.
