Dark Souls – Artorias of Abyss DLC Review (PopBucket)

PopBucket writes: Artorias of the Abyss is an excellent addition to one of the most compelling worlds conceived in recent gaming. It provides more challenge, more exploration and more reward for your investment which instead of feeling tacked on like the majority of DLC, instead compliments the central experience and minimalist plot.

I can't wait to pick this one up. I felt completely satisfied with the original content. At no point in time did I feel I purchased an unfinished game. This content is well worth my time and money. The game was fantastic and I'm sure the DLC will meet my high expectations.

I have only ever purchased DLC for Warhawk and when I look back it was a bit of a rip off, but I enjoyed it. DLC is hardly ever done right, unfortunately.

You won't be disappointed, I certainly haven't been. I agree how DLC is rarely done right and this is one exception for sure. The boss battles are very challenging, there's more loot to find, new areas to explore, new npc's to interact with, etc. It definitely feels like it was built to further expand on the lore of the game rather than taken out during development and planned as DLC. My character is a soul level 170 on NG+++ and the bosses are extremely hard as a result. Basically the DLC is kicking my ass fun I enjoy the challenge, already sank 8 hours into the DLC, the length of most contemporary games, lol.

It all sounds very appealing. I am a PVP player primarily, but still love the PVE side of things. I get very addicted to this game VERY easily. The only reason I don't have the DLC yet is because of lack of money.

I tend to hang around with the TwitchTV community and they seem to be enjoying the content. I just want to hop in their fight clubs asap!

I don't like the fact characters that I have invested MANY hours on are now useless due to certain nerfs and changes, but I will just start from scratch.

Nice to see you're enjoying the DLC. Praise the Sun \o/

Why WHy WHY cant we get a Souls game on the Vita? Bring back the Archstones or whatnot for more bite sized dying. Id take a 3ds spinoff also, anything!

Been hyped to get this but im hesitant cause i dont have the time to reinvest in this massive game now that i work 6-7 days a week (gives full time a new meaning lol). Maybe over Thanksgiving when il have 3 days off.
