GamesRadar Preview Paper Mario: Sticker Star - 10 things you need to know about the first hour

GamesRadar - We have at least 10 things to say about the first 60 minutes.

Many are eyeing Nintendo’s big November 18 release of the Wii U, but three days before that, the publisher releases its biggest 3DS game of the fall, Paper Mario: Sticker Star. We recently went hands-on with a near-final version of the game, playing the first few stages in the flat (and yet somehow 3D) adventure. I really like how the limited sticker aspect is looking. The fact that you're only given that small space for stickers really adds depth to the gameplay. You have to think ahead to that next area, to that more powerful enemy. Random battles are going to feel refreshingly important because they directly affect what you can do in that next battle. I think people are going to underestimate the challenge this could bring.

I felt pretty disappointed when they revealed the "world-level" scheme. Something about it just feels off to me. Maybe they couldn't have done open world, but seeing Paper Mario use such an uninspired layout is disappointing. I haven't played the game, so I'll keep an open mind, but right now I'm kind of pessimistic.

The Most Disappointing Video Game Sequels - Part Seven

Phil writes, "There's little that hurts a gamer more than hearing that a sequel to one of their favorite games is coming out, it releases, and it turns out to be a dud. Sometimes it's due to the formula being changed too much and not for the better. Other times it's because the game is missing what made the original so good.

Whatever the reasons may be, SPC is back with a look at six more disappointing video game sequels that failed to deliver or failed to satisfy for one reason or another."

6 Franchises Nintendo Needs to Resurrect on Switch

The Punished Backlog's David Silbert writes:

"Nintendo is widely known for its deep, eclectic well of beloved franchises. From The Legend of Zelda to Wrecking Crew, there’s no library in gaming as rich in history or as popular among fans.

2019 is shaping up to be a banner year for Nintendo, with representatives from Mario, Fire Emblem, Zelda, and Pokémon all gracing the Switch platform before the year’s end. At the same time, there are still plenty of Nintendo franchises that lie dormant this generation, in desperate need of the “Switch treatment.”

While there are plenty of legendary series worthy of a revival, here are six in particular I would absolutely kill to see on Switch in the near future."

A new Golden Sun and Mother would be great, but I wish I wasn't the only one that wants a new StarTropics.
