Top 10 Video Games that Deserve Reboots

It seems every game is getting the reboot treatment, so why have these games been left out?

Oddworld is rebooted. Abe's Oddysee New and Tasty is releasing next year. Both Munch and Stranger are HD on Vita and PS3. Lorne said as long as gamers buy their games they will continue to make more Oddworld titles and finally finish the Quintology.

and...a hundred thousand times right effing meow!..
...Please make Jedi Knight IV. My favorite Star Wars game was Outcast. Amazing.

I find it odd and sad contradiction that many call this gen creatively bankrupt, steeped in remakes, and yet every time I look around someone's asking for reboots rather then original IPs. Are telling the industry not to do anything original.

When I say (System Shock, X-Wing vs Tie fighter, Magic Carpet and Populas,!) I don’t mean the exact same thing, just something similar with a different story. However most people want original content, but kind of hard to cheer something that isn’t created yet, so people go back to what is true and tested. There have been over used genres, namely FPS Military shooters and in some cases zombies. Wouldn’t it be nice to get a good space sim or a WWI FPS or maybe something futuristic?

I dont even see the point of rebooting System Shock , when it's creative forces already moved on to actually create its true spiritual successors (like Bioshock) .

I'm tired of initiatives like Syndicate

Godmars2904212d ago

The "New" Syndicate was only a FPS that tried to exploit the strategy game's name.

And with most tools this gen meant to favor and support first and third person games I doubt something like a flight or other sim would be any better than they've done, which hasn't been good.

I would kill for a good Dune reboot. Loved all Dunes ever made.
