The Oddworld Inhabitants studio closed in 2005, but the series has seen a revival in recent years thanks to the rise of digital distribution. Last week at the Eurogamer Expo, series creator Lorne Lanning alongside JAW CEO Stewart Gilray explained how this has come about and what's coming next for Oddworld.
Oddworld: Soulstorm, the next game to come from Oddworld Inhabitants, has had its title sequence revealed and it paints a pretty bleak picture.
I'm certainly curious on just how dark Lorne takes it. Either way, I have faith. Perhaps the Oddworld quintology will be made after all.
Console Monster writes: "Every four years, our hearts are constantly broken as each time we dare to sit down to watch the latest and possibly greatest sporting event to appear on our televisions. We raise our expectations oh so high and far from learning our lesson from previous tournaments, we repeat our silly footballing traditions by standing up every time when we think our team have scored, shouting at the manager's poor choice of substitution and wondering how on earth the goal keeper saved that magnificent shot, denying your team victory..."
An in depth look at Oddworld: Abe's Exoddus, the second instalment of the Oddworld games. Looking at the changes it made to expand the gameplay of the original, and the effects its short development cycle had on the game as a whole.
Oddysee and Exoddus are both great games which manage to evoke a sense of darkness mixed with comedy and triumph. However, Abe's first outing is my most fondest memory on PlayStation, in addition to Metal Gear Solid, of course.
