Mass Effect' DLC Requires A Spaceship, A Couple Of Hours Of Player Progress

in oblivion if you went to the DLC areas without a high level charactet you will get owned, same as if you tried to got the burning crusade without a 60 in WoW.

As for the oblivion dlc doesn't the game lvl the monsters with your character?

Works out to US$5 or whatever 400MSPs cost in your country. And its not quite 90 minutes; it is 90 minutes of story *minimum*. If it is anything like the rest of the game, it will have replay value with each character/career you have, so its a really somewhere between 3-9 extra hours of gameplay. Maybe more if it brings new weapons and armor that change the rest of the game...

I've never played Mass Effect, about how long does it actually take to get to the point in the game this guy is talking about. He's making it sound like he has to play 20 more hours.

Not long. Can't recall exactly, but it's fairly early in the game. Probably 2-3 hours in...

Depends how many side quests you start (although you can always do these a little later if you are eager to get to the DLC stuff).

If you start a new game, and ignore everything except the goal of getting your ship (like, dont run around the space station and begin a bunch of quests) you could be on the ship in probably 30minutes...

Not even 2-3 hours if you skip all the side missions which you can come back to you can do it in 1 hour.

I'm still on the first planet a little bit after the girl joined my team. The workers just told us about the alien attack. I am in the middle of home renovations so it may be a while before I get back to playing again.

And Bioware is being conservative, as usual.
Even my most-rushed, zero-side-mission, skip-the long chats, playthrough (on Insanity) took upwards of 40 hours.
Mass Effect has so much variation between playthroughs and character class abilities that multiple play-throughs are the norm, not the exception.

Of note, children, there will likely be 4 more DLC packs for Mass Effect, as BRING DOWN THE SKY brings 50 achievement points and DLC can offer up to 250.

Figure quarterly releases and it should get us all right up to the release of Mass Effect 2.

I was thinking you would have to do this. Hardly as big of deal that this guy is saying but still a burn. Seeing that I had already thought of this I already did a seperate save with my 60 adept last night ^^ I'm set for this DLC with a fury!
