NowGamer: Valve's Chet Faliszek discusses the future of the Left 4 Dead franchise as well as collaborations and user-generated content for the zombie franchise.
While there’s likely already a list behind closed doors, one can still speculate and offer logical suggestions for titles new and old that should find their way into the PlayStation and Switch libraries.
Some of these seem to be exclusive for lack of enthusiasm of the publisher rather than because of deals. A lot of cool indies skip ps for some reason like katana zero, el paso, elsewhere and gunbrela
They really think PlayStation fans would want to play Redfall? Pfft.
Personally nothing on that list would be any game I’d want to play.
I’d absolutely love Hellblade 2, Palworld, and Quantum Break on ps5 as I’m sure tons of others would too. There’s nothing wrong with wanting games from another console and its sad that people try to act like they aren’t interested in them.
Sunset Overdrive makes very good sense. Palworld might.
Don't know about the others. Hellblade II does make sense given the original launched on PS4 first. Quantum Break was a massive letdown for me. I absolutely hated the whole TV show thing and I don't think anyone should have to relive that on modern hardware.
Fan projects Team Fortress: Source 2 and Portal 64 have shut down after Valve intervened in their development.
First they open Steam up to more AI, now they are shutting down fan projects when at one time they used to support or even give the fans jobs.
Wonder what's going on with Valve at the minute.
There's potential that Valve had already planned to bring Source 2 to TF2 officially after Counter Strike 2. It's been getting some renewed attention lately.
You got Nintendo to thank for Portal64 being taken down. As for TF2, most likely it's due to the probability of Valve working on a source 2 port themselves. It's sucks but Nintendo are the biggest pricks in the business and not letting this drag out into a huge court drama is the best decision.
Valve has updated its stance on AI games on the Steam storefront, allowing creators to publish AI-created games.
Hell no. I want games that have been made by creative minds who have a passion for their craft, not a bot with a penchant for plagiarism.
So instead of paying for an engine and assets to create a game they are paying for an engine and assets to create a game.
(get ready to hit disagree!)
I am pretty much done with Valve. They have left their half-life fans in the dirt (y'know, the fanbase that BUILT their company) in favor of releasing another Portal, another L4D, and endless party hats. Nowadays Valve simply finds a community mod they like (Team Fortress, Portal, and L4D were all heavily based on community mods), they polish it up, and then they sell it as a full game.
New characrers....can't you use the old ones again
I mean after the comic where Bill died can you really believe in the world of L4D they would be safe in Florida. They should meet up with a new character and continue there journey, the originals are always the best, Francis with his sarcastic liners and Zoe with her movie refrences.
You know I doubt they would ever do this but if I was them I would of made the comic non cannon and just a "What if" scenario if the L4D survivors went south instead of norht (where they were orginaly going) meaning they could set the game in Canada, have a new location and Bill would be back. Just seemed a slap to the face to kill Bill off instead of someone like Rochelle, they always said it wasn't about story so why change all of a sudden, I really feel like they tried to kill off the first game as much as they could and killing Bill was the final nail in the coffin.
Hopefully they will consider bringing back Zoe, Francis and Louis.
