Earlier this week G.R. Bradley covered games #30-21 of Rant Gaming’s top 30 RPGs of all time. It was hard deducing the list of 70+ games to a measly 30, and even then the poll results came close.
So here we are, ladies and gents: part II of the top RPGs of all time.
Gary Green said: We’re finding ourselves in a similar position with the Pixel Remaster edition of Final Fantasy IV as we were with Final Fantasy III since, once again, we’ve received a slightly upscaled, more vibrant port of the original game when there’s already an expanded 3D remake available. As such, we’re playing a game which, even after its long-awaited release, still lives very much in the shadow of its remake.
If only they didn't screw ps4 owners over with a physical release. I'd have ran through this in a heartbeat.
The first one I played, it was the one that made me fall in love with JRPGs and is still my favorite to this day. A masterpiece
With hundreds of games, some of which are considered to be classics that hold up to this day, you’ve got the pick of the litter when it comes to choosing a potential remake
^This. THIS!
Stop remaking PS4 games!
Remake PS1 and PS2 games à la FF7R, RE1, Mafia, Half Life style ....
Make Legend of Dragoon, Legacy of Kain etc Remakes happen
and Valkyrie Profile Lenneth. They did Star Ocean 1 & 2 R already, VPL should get the same treatment.
I'd be down for FF8, and Xenogears. But I would also be down for Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross. And I wish Namco would get off their ass and remake or remaster the Xenosaga trilogy.

Nintendo has used March 10 (aka MAR10 Day) to make a number of Mario related announcements, including an update on Super Mario Bros Movie 2.
I personally would have easily place Nintendo Wii entertainment system exclusive Xenoblade Chronicles as number 1. Greatest and most epic jrpg that I have played in a decade.
Followed closely by Skies of Arcadia Legends, and Final Fantasy 7
Rated E For Everyone
Was going to say something about Mass Effect, how both ME1 and ME2 should be lower because they're newer, but really Borderlands shouldn't even be on the list. It had no real story or character development, and was more about stuff than anything.
@Carl_Shocker:
The only reason you're listing Lost Odyssey and especially Blue Dragon is because of what console they were on. Which makes you almost as bad as LX-General-Kaos - who I'm sure is getting paid for his posts!
@Locksus:
Console RPGs is general have been especially poor with few exception as far as I'm concerned. Red Dead Redemption, Fallout 3, and ME1 were probably only the only true RPGs this gen. The only ones which advanced the genre. Everything else which was good or decent, whereas something like Oblivion was an open-world sandbox which broke its own narrative because of it's mechanic.
FF X, Persona 3 and FF XII are my favorites.
Final Fantasy VIII doesn't belong anywhere on a "best of" list anywhere, ever.
Xenogears is one of my favorites, also wild arms and golden sun.
