CyberConnect2 is developing two fighting games right now. Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 goes back to the series roots with one button combos and big boss battles with quick time events. JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle goes in a different direction with a more technical approach. Players can trigger stage gimmicks, switch styles, and taunt enemies.
When Siliconera met with CyberConnect2 we asked Hiroshi Matsuyama, CEO of CyberConnect2, how developing the two titles differs.
Developer CyberConnect2 confirmed the incoming closure of its satellite office in Montreal, Canada. At the end of July, it'll be shutting down its only other office beyond the main one stationed in Fukuoka, Japan.
The Montreal office opened in 2016, 20 years after the developer was originally founded. Its statement noted that the second office "led CyberConnect2 on a creative journey in the development of tools and cutting-edge techniques used in creating games."
No mention was made in the developer's statement about if it will offer any severance or transitional help to those about to be laid off.
CyberConnect2 boss Hiroshi Matsuyama has confirmed that a new .hack game is in development! in its 20th anniversary concert.
Yeeeesss!!!! I hope they vary up the dungeons, but I’m so happy this is a thing
I wouldn't mind some cleaned up remasters of the originals. Those are the ones I have real nostalgia for.
