With Assassin’s Creed 3 just around the corner, it has been claimed that there may not be many installments left in the hit series.

Seems too big a franchise to end that quickly, so I'd be surprised if this is true.

Big franchises like this tend to be killed off when they go downhill, but Revelations did very well sales-wise and I'm sure AC III will as well.

An early end to the series would be a somewhat strange move by Ubisoft. Even if they are only thinking of doing a couple more at the moment, I'm pretty sure that if they continue to sell well - they'll continue to make 'em.

Besides, there are some very cool historic locations I'd still like to see them tackle...

TrendyGamers4248d ago

I think the series is too popular for just one or two more games.

Irishguy954248d ago

It's not early, you've just become accustomed game franchises being milked

extermin8or4248d ago

AC:R got abit stale but it wasn't awful- AC3 looks really fresh with all the new systems in place etc; so i think we'll se more; I want london to be done either medieval or Victorian

corrus4248d ago

Is not true i remember for one article i had read on this site that Ubisoft want to make to AC10

WeskerChildReborned4248d ago

Yea maybe COD will die off next gen but idk about AC.

MostJadedGamer4248d ago

He was talking about the worst possible scenario. If somehow AC3 tanks sales wise then we might only get 1 or 2 more AC games. The chances of AC3 tanking is less then 1% so there is nothing to worry about. There will be AC games for many years to come.

Kurt Russell4247d ago

It'll be a shame if this one doesn't isn't the end of the main storyline. I don't mind further games, but I felt AC 2 dragged on by having two sequels.

Jason_Tanner4246d ago

Wrong. It doesn't matter how big this franchise is, the fact of the matter is you can only milk a franchise so long before sales take a huge dip and let's face it; in the 4 games this franchise has produced, it's quickly becoming the "LOST" of gaming.

I don't want to see it end, there are to many possibles for the series.

MasterD9194248d ago

With the frequency of AC games being released, I find it really hard to believe they are done.

Plus, it would be their loss since most likely some other developer will eventually take the reigns and make a similar game based off of all the ideas they DIDN'T do.

Relientk774248d ago

I hope not I really love the series, its one of my favorite franchises from this generation

LarVanian4248d ago

I think they should finish Desmond's story with AC3 and maybe continue with stand alone sequels focusing on different characters in different eras.

Games with the dumbest NPCs

Non-playable characters in certain games are meme material, thanks to their foolish behavior. These are the big-budget games with the dumbest NPCs.

Bethesda makes the most consistently stupid NPCs, like really bad... yet I still can't help but love playing their games. Guilty pleasure, I guess. *sigh* 😩

How did redfall not make the cut.

Every Bethesda game and Every Halo game. This list needed to have Cyberpunk somewhere.

My first thought was the safe rooms in the resident evil series. When you hear that enchanting music you know you’re safe.

Killer2020UK290d ago

I literally just came here to post this. That music in the Resi 1 safe rooms is playing in my head.

I was thinking TLOU work benches. Although I remember one time where it was a false security.

Perfect. 👌👌

I'd add the top of my highrise apartment in GTA Online. That calm, quiet peace, just knowing as soon as I step out that door I will be bombarded by 8 and 12 year olds calling each other n**** and f****, trolled by combat jets and rocket launchers.

The entire map of SotC is peaceful as hell. Used to just ride around exploring it.

mastershredder289d ago (Edited 289d ago )

Afterlife in Cyberpunk 2077 is a peaceful area? Erm, hands down and very hard to miss, Misty Olszewski's Esoterica is the absolute epitome of peaceful areas in that game.

The "last of us" deer location i found to be a welcoming respite. It was nice to not have someone trying to eat me.

RPGer289d ago

Kingdom Hearts tend to present half peaceful areas and most of them are amazing.

'Assassin’s Creed III': Ten Years Later

With the recent reveal of Assassin’s Creed Mirage and the promise that the series will return to its roots, there hasn’t been a better time to get stuck into Assassin’s Creed’s back catalog, whether it’s replaying an old favorite or getting lost in previously looked-over classic.

Ten years later, we miss the old you, Assassin's Creed.

Popsicle564d ago (Edited 564d ago )

I really enjoyed Assassins Creed 3. My only complaint was that I didn’t enjoy when I had to switch from Connor to Desmond. It’s a personal preference, but Connor’s story was just more fun for me.

On a side note, Black flag was the most enjoyable of the AC games I played.
