GameCity Prize 2012 longlist announced

GameCity, the Nottingham festival that celebrates the culture of video games, today announced the longlist for its second GameCity Prize. The initial candidates are decided by a secret 'Academy' of experts, before the shortlist is presented to a selection of jurors from cultural industries outside of video games. Last year's jury included writer Charlie Higson, musician Nitin Sawhney and Labour MP Tom Watson. Mojang's indie phenomenon Minecraft won the inaugural gong.
