NintendoLife - Bookstore Dream, to be clear, has about as much book-selling realism as the Call of Duty series has to real warfare. Ultimately though, it is just a game, and this one draws much of its inspiration from a series of smartphone resource management games from developer Kairosoft. We won't complain about that, however, as it does a good job of recreating the addictive, compulsive nature of those games, even if it does have the odd quirk to frustrate eager booksellers.
Games Asylum reviews Bookstore Dream for DSiWare.
"CIRCLE Entertainment has seen to it to project some realistic circumstances to usher players into a standard of administrative practices, and ordinarily that could pay dividends. But if their goal was to, in keeping with that realism, also translate the monotony of running a business, then I have to say the project has succeeded in that regard." -- Wiiloveit.com
Digitally Downloaded writes: "Or not. It saddens me that developers and publishers get away with this, because Kairosoft, the developers behind the wonderful Game Dev Story (and a host of other light simulation classics on iOS and Android) really ought to have the right to sue Circle for this one."
