GamingUnwrapped: Deep Black Review

Deep Black really doesn’t waste any time putting you right into the action of modern day espionage. The whole game revolves around essentially being a spy, and having to secretly complete missions to help your organization accomplish their goals. It’s a pretty cut and dry story that didn’t do anything that we haven’t seen before. The only difference is that instead of having the blessing of doing missions on land, you have to do them from underwater (for the majority, anyways). S&S Review: Deep Black

Deep Black has a lot of ambition, but never really accomplishes any of the goals made for itself. It falls short of a lot of things, gameplay being the frontrunner in that category. A mundane story doesn't help at all, giving little to no reason in dropping $15 bucks on it.

Deep Black Review | GIZORAMA

GIZORAMA - Third person shooters have taken us into space, under ground, through the air, and upside down. Jungles, deserts, rubble, and downtown have filled the environments. Deep Black’s developer, Biart, wanted to put out something a bit different for the genre. With experience in creating games solely based around underwater activity, they decided to take the third person shooter underwater with Deep Black. Deep Black doesn’t spend the whole time underwater as there are plenty of times that fighting will bring the player out into the rusty industrialist environments between excursions in the water.

PSN Stores - Deep Black Review

PSN Stores - After the experience I had playing through the broken and poorly designed Deep Black it’s hard to even figure out where to begin. When we first posted about Deep Black on the site I’ll be honest that I didn’t expect a great game. If anything I had more of an ironic curiosity for the game on top of Deep Black reminding me oddly enough of Hydrophobia. Granted only due to the focus on water gameplay within each of those games. What I didn’t expect was for Deep Black to be downright awful.
