D+PAD: Dr Who - The Eternity Clock Reviewed

D+PAD Writes:

Given Doctor Who’s long-established position as Saturday-evening staple it’s not surprising that recently there have been several attempts to adapt the Time Lord’s adventures, the combination of time travel and the Doctor’s dexterous approach to a challenge lending themselves, at least in theory, pretty well to a more cerebral, family-friendly videogame. But the likes of the Wii’s Return To Earth have not been well-received, so now here comes Supermassive Games to try and make amends with Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock. It might just be the worst of the lot.

Supermassive Games still working on Until Dawn, no more Doctor Who games

Super massive games gives us an update on their Playstation exclusive game, Until Dawn. No word on whether it has been moved to PS4 or is strictly still a PS Move game.

Good to hear that Until Dawn is still alive. Should move it to PS4 to help sales of the camera.

Agreed. A nice horror game like this utilizing the camera would drive sales. Tell people that games like Outlast & Until Dawn can be played with the camera to record your reactions, will help greatly.
The camera seems to be doing well in pre orders on amazon too. it's been in the top 100 for a while.

Oh yeah I forgot about this game. I thought it looked pretty good

Please be a PS4 game! And bring back Redwood Falls, while you're at it.

Not sure they'd have the resources to shift it to PS4, when it seems like it was in a pretty deep state of development for PS3.

Although I would prefer it on the PS4, I think supporting the PS3 for the next year or two is better than dragging your exclusives over to next gen to pad out a lineup. The only exception i would make for this, is The Last Guardian. I really, really want that as a PS4 game. I mean, really!!

Was really looking forward to this title but now i'll only buy it if it releases on PS4

These are the people that made Tumble.

Looking forward to this. I guess I'd opt for PS4 too as I'm swamped with PS3 games :)

Review: Dr Who: The Eternity Clock (Vita) | Digitally Downloaded

Digitally Downloaded writes: "So Dr Who joins the sport of cricket as a fine British idea that is absolutely butchered in video game form. By far the worst Vita game yet released."

I didn't love it, but for the price I was pretty happy. Developers made some attempt to keep things fresh throughout with constantly changing gameplay mechanics (sadly a real rarity in this day and age), lacked technical competence but the voice acting was superb.
Happy with the purchase, *definitely* not the worst Vita game (there's so many truly awful titles to chose from) but not something I'd recommend to a non-fan.

Dr Who: The Eternity Clock Review (GamingBolt)

"With the likes of The Walking Dead and Tintin, there’s been an influx of TV-based games of late. Equally there’s been a resurgence in the side-scrolling platformer, with Rayman Origins among the highlights. So it comes as little surprise that Supermassive Games and Sony have decided to combine the two with an attempt at a half decent Dr Who game. Judging by the Timelord’s previous dismal outings, the odds of a smash hit were stacked against it."
