Pretend (?) you run a gaming company. If you could bring the biggest mobile game there is purchasable in stores, would you do it? If you’re the largest game publisher in the world, then it’s not such a tough question. Surprise surprise, Activision is publishing Rovio’s Angry Birds for the Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and Nintendo 3DS, even though it’s free on Android and available for way less on iOS.
The Japan-based entertainment conglomerate is expected to pay about $1 billion for Rovio Entertainment.
Wait, have they even made anything since then? Thought they were a one-hit wonder lol.
Rovio should be embarrassed over the way it's handled Angry Birds.
Rovio has released a statment saying that Angry Birds popularity means its culling on Android after Thursday 23rd Feb 2023.
Hilarious they see what the market wants, and instead of making more things like that, kills it and is trying to funnel people towards a worse prodcut because GaaS trash makes them more money. Why did they even remake the game and sell it for a buck in the first place then?! The version they're killing hasn't even been out a year.
Also, completely removing from Google Play, but renaming on Apple? Why removing on one and keeping on the other?
This is why I love Android. You can go to a site like apk mirror and download the apk cracked and install it. Also you can torrent hundreds of Android games so easily. They can pull anything they want off the store I wouldn't care less 🤣
This is why mobile games need to die once and for all. These companies are hilarious. I understand they need to make money but this is just an insult.
I'm sorry. Even with all the visual updates, I simply CANNOT seem to understand why they need to sell the game as if it was a AA console title to begin with. Most successful indie games on the PSN/XBLA had a higher budget but wouldn't dare place such an atrocious price tag. This is just highway robbery at it's worst. There is NO way they need that much money to break even on a game that could still be played with the original iPhone. I pity those who actually try to justify their purchase.
$40 for this game. It doesn't matter it has great graphics or a different method to control. The big sell for this game on mobiles was because it was addictive but also because it was dam cheap. I really do not see many forking out $40 for it
There's no need to justify it. They know how far they can squeeze console gamers from CoD experience.
Copies sold worldwide: 1. That's it.
even on my phone i didnt download this thing for free. stupid games like this should stay on the phones.
Turn on my PS3 to play angry bird i must have a mental problem the day it will happen.
