5 Upcoming Gaming Sequels That We’ve Waited Too Long For

WC writes: These days it’s hard to have a successful IP that doesn’t come out with a sequel every couple years. Some games get so many sequels it’s virtually impossible to even keep track of them anymore. That’s not to say that those games are innately bad. Of course, some of them ARE really freaking terrible and don’t deserve sequels, but it’s not like they all automatically fall into that category; just most of them.

how can you not like 4 and 2?

Rome: Total war is simply amazing and has unlimited amounts of replay value and KUF was amazing!

Lord_Sloth4263d ago

Maybe they just aren't to his taste in genre. I'm not looking forward to anything aside from Neverwinter on that list and I don't have a good enough computer for gaming so that might as well be scratched off as well.

He said no to Rome: Total War 2?

This website needs to stop putting each item on a separate page.

MidnytRain4263d ago

Thanks for sharing. Not even going to click now.

apollo0034263d ago

Yeah because that extra 1-2 seconds it takes to click that button on each page must be tortuous, but taking the time to bitch about it on here seems productive. Lets not read what may be a great article because we might have to click "next" a few times. Do you also wish that books didn't have separate pages so you wouldn't have to turn pages, but instead were just printed on one super long scroll? Holy shit people are lazy.

*awaits inevitable numerous disagrees from butt hurt people*

Whitefeather4263d ago

It's not that it's because they're trying to get extra hits, it's not the time it's the principle of it. Also how are the other people butthurt when you're the one who wrote a paragraph complaining about me posting one sentence giving this website constructive criticism.

morganfell4263d ago (Edited 4263d ago )

The separate clicks normally wouldn't be an issue appolo, I will grant you that. But the overall mentality of that website, like so many other blurringly similar urls is quite easy to define. 99% of their articles are simply clickfests. They are almost all opinion pieces composed of "Top 5 this" or "The 10 things that" lists.

What they really represent is the one thing wrong with gaming journalism. It has degenerated into a "Here's what I think" ego trip where real reporting which objectively serves a demographic is tossed out of a moving vehicle in favor of the self promotion of a single individual's likes and dislikes.

Sorry but I am not a sheep. I need information not leadership. I need insight, not dictation. Game journalists need to learn they do not matter, the game does. They and their opinion are not more important than the title about which they write. They need to realize they report on an industry, they do not work in that industry.

And journalists should not overtly attempt to influence people and drive or damn sales either through intention or careless, haphazard reporting.

apollo0034263d ago

I wasn't trying to come across like I was attacking you personally, it just gets annoying when every time I come across an article like that the comments are filled with people complaining about having to click a button when the comments section should be talking about the article itself. I agree with pretty much everything you said morganfell, a lot of websites such as IGN in my opinion just post anything whether its good or not, and there certainly are too many of the "top 5" lists and everything like that. I am a game journalist but I don't try to shove my views down peoples throats like a lot of journalists seem to.

user54670074263d ago

Worst part is you can't list them on here for everyone because you'll get done for Spam by the mods...even though your just helping people so they don't need to waste their time if they have crap internet connections

Hicken4262d ago

Generally, I agree, but at least this article had meat to each of the pages. It's not as bad as the ones that have one item, a three-line paragraph, and a picture.

Still annoying, but more tolerable this time around.

"Cryptic Studios and Gearbox Publishing are today very happy and excited to announce that "Neverwinter: Menzoberranzan" (Neverwinter’s 25th module) is now available for PC (via Steam), Xbox (via the Microsoft, and Playstation via digital stores (as announced at Wizards of the Coast’s Dungeons & Dragons Direct 2023 showcase)." - Jonas Ek, TGG.

It's for that online game, correct? I always wanted to see the drows home from Drizzt's books, I've read those years ago, but I never could fully imagine it from text alone. Looks a bit bright compared to what I remember how it was described, but I'm guessing that's for gameplay reasons.
