While meeting with Tim and Matt, we spoke a lot about MMOs. As someone who reviews games and participates in a lot of Betas, I often start a game before it’s out, or before my friends get a chance to pick it up. By the time they level and can play with us, I have some new set of gear or got tired of the game in general. This problem is completely avoided with FORGE because of the level playing field."

I saw a story about this game about a week ago and was instantly intrigued.
I was always a huge fan of PvP in World of Warcraft, but didn't like how gear-based it was. I also loved Guild Wars (1) PvP, but it always seemed to be dominated by "flavor of the month" builds. I think the industry has learned a lot about balance and skill-based gameplay in the past couple years thanks to the meteoric rise of games like League of Legends. Forge does indeed appear to combine the best aspects of all these games, with a modern engine and some nice looking, and varied, environments. I'm definitely looking forward to some hands on time.
