Risen 2 was one of the biggest disappointments of the year when it launched on PC back in April, and the Xbox 360/PlayStation 3 port was delayed in an effort to give the console version a chance to right the ship. No such luck; the pirate action/RPG is noticeably worse on console than on PC for a host of reasons, the foremost being that the sorely needed dodge feature that was patched into the original after release is missing in action.
Ownership over several titles gets shuffled in THQ Nordic and Koch Media arrangement. Potential remasters, sequels, ports, and more on the horizon.
Both THQ and Koch Media are owned by the same larger company, the Embracer Group. I’m not sure why the publishing rights would need to be swapped.

So Risen 2 is not worth playing ?
I say it is worth playing, though I would wait for a decent price drop, personally. The port is less than ideal, and there were even issues with the pc version. The game is less than stable.
If you liked the first game, you should enjoy the second. They made some changes to the formula that annoyed long-time Gothic players, as well as fans of the original Risen, but the game still has a fair bit going for it.
