Pocket Gamer: George of the Jungle Review

George of the Jungle is obviously aimed a younger gamers but, as ever, that's no excuse for creating an inferior product that swings from unfairly hard to far too easy, or fails to capture any of the charm of the cartoon it's based upon. Frustratingly, this just ends up joining a list of licensed products that desperately hope to sell on the strength of the name rather than quality of the experience. Gamecell UK reviews George Of The Jungle

Gamecell UK reports:

''Gamers of a certain age will probably remember something of the cartoon series George Of The Jungle, even if it's only the theme tune. Well, the King of the jungle and his buddies are back in a new NickToon series, and have come to the DS in platform game form.

You play as George and you make your way through the jungle collecting stones to pay for your medical check-up. Sounds simple, doesn't it? You even have a cast of friends to help you: Ape, Ursula, Magnolia, Shep and Tookie-Tookie bird all help out, and are even sometimes playable characters.''

DarkZero: George of the Jungle Review

If you like your platform games old school this is definitely worth a look, although obviously aimed at a young audience it does provide a fair challenge. It would probably best for you to shop around and find it as cheap as possible though, as the game isn't immensely long, and there is very little reply value. It is a bit of a waste of the Wii's capabilities though, and if you have a DS it may be worth picking up that version as it seems much more suited to a handheld.
